Billions in Cash - nothing I could possibly do with them. Am I alone?

If you are bored of the game, go ahead and quit. If you are not bored of the game, continue doing the non-grind things you have been doing for years already. Or just build a gank boat and attempt to massacre everyone and everything flying through shinrarta and laugh like a fool even if you lose.

I'm getting close to that. I think it just means I don't need to worry about getting credits and I can have anything I want. I'm free to do anything I like in the game.

That is exactly how I feel about that. I was so damn happy once I reached monetary freedom. Of course then swiftly came engineering...still got 3 ships in my fleet to do. Yet it great having the leisure at just logging in when I feel like it, having a perfect ship at hand for whatever I decide to do, and generally a lot more time for either something else, or exploring new patch features.

I was seriously looking forward to Carriers/Megaships, if only due to potentially being that missing Credit sink.
The few Details given before they were scrapped/postponed however didn't seem encouraging, not intended as such or for individual Players.

PowerPlay? *bleh* no thanks xD

I guess I'll take it head-on and just get me those (currently useless) 10 Bil in Cash. Or 100. Who knows.
After all, I already retrofitted my Mil-Grade Cutter for Hotspot Mining lol

Still - especially with the current income levels - it really feels there's something missing. Could be huge Ships, but don't have to be.
I'd happily settle with colonizing a remote System in the middle of nowhere and build its Economy and Population. Or take a huge Carrier and Explore distant regions otherwise unreachable - if only that was possible :p

The next thing I want to spend at least half a billion on is the Panther Clipper. With size 8 FSD at the 160 million mark and the other internals probably pretty beefy too, at least the thrusters, should be possible. If FD just released the damn thing.

Half a billion?!?!
Imho the Panther Clipper should be at least twice as expensive as a Corvette.
My Corvette costs past a billion with all bells and whistles.
But yeah Fdev needs to release it first......

Fallout 3 had a good take on this by being able to buy furnishings for your run down shack. This served no real purpose but was amusing to many.

So in a similar vain I'd like to be able to buy a space apartment in my local hub and use in game Cred's to make it a really slick pad.

Of course you should also be able to decorate etc the living quarters in your actual ships.

Perhaps you could form a squadron devoted to helping poor commanders purchase A rated Krait Mk2s kitted for Thargoid combat? It would be a pain to run and not very fun, but you would enable more Commanders to solo Thargoid Interceptors and reduce the probability of incursions lasting.

Another, use for such a squadron is to pay for rebuys resulting from Thargoid mishaps.

I just like the massive rebuy cushion. Especially nice if you do PvP. The mat grind is still real.

If I could spend my fortune buying mats (at inflated prices) to allow me to engineer, that would appeal to me. Because the notion of collecting mats really really really doesn't appeal to me...

Oh tried that one in the past. Didn't work.

Last time I tried, I wanted to share a 35M Wing Mission. Guess what no takers. Noone even responded to Comms *shrugs*

I tried the same with 50m wing missions. Only two takers over several attempts to share. One thought I was a ganker and just wanted to lure her in to kill her. I eventually gave up on trying to help in that way.

Credits are easy anyway. Most folks don't need any help.

...and all despite never grinding them Credits.

Just out of interest, how?

How is it possible to make billions and billions without either grinding, or without playing huge amounts of the time in such a way that it doesn't feel like grind?

I made a couple billion back when you could stack very large numbers of long range passenger missions, and it didn't feel grindy to me because I could do other things during the long supercruise, and when I got interdicted, often by multiple ships, the combat was actually great fun.

But since that got nerfed, I've spent all the money, and now credits are important if I want to buy more stuff.

What am I doing wrong?

Are you rich beyond belief? are you bored? are you looking for a new purpose in life?

Then take....

Bill Smith's viper challenge

Buy a mk 3 viper.... outfit it any way you like... then fly to the most dangerous places you can find and see how long you can survive for....[alien]

Bill

In any case, it will help you git gud :p

Been there, done that - in an unengineered Eagle, no need for an OP Viper :D

This is true. Before 3.3, there were no legit ways to make billions fast. Most of those pre-3.3 billions came from things like Quince, board-flipped mission stacking, skimmer-zapping with ships etc.
