Can you explain flight style? People have asked me what my flight style is and all I can say is “I dunno, keep them off my 6 and kill ‘em before they kill me”.
The question is about what type of combat maneuvers, both offensive and defensive you typically use.
This can be quite important in your ship selection as the handling characteristics of the various ships may either compliment your "style" or conversely inhibit or hamper you.
As example if you are a jouster then ships with high agility , or better put, the ability to swap ends quickly is critical. It's like barrell racing.
If you kite for avoidance then boost cycle gains more importance.
If you like to dogfight lateral thrusters are of major importance, whereas tanking and alpha dps style conflict is not so dependant in this regard.
Each ship is a balance of speed, agility, offensive/defensive capability and flight utility.
In my dps builds I want to stay close and deliver as much damage in a short space of time as I can.
In jousting builds I can stand further off and only really get close for gun passes.
This is a simplified explanation but I think relates the point.
