PvP Does Frontier need to Re-Think PVP rules of Engagement

You are missing the important, nee *vital* detail, that there is a simply massive difference in player population whether you are in Open or even one of the largest PvE groups out there. If you want the background population, and care not for PvP combat, then you are basically stuck without a natural "home". You can go into a lesser populated mode to avoid the PvP combat that just isn't how you want to enjoy your leisure time. But that changes your experience of the game. -OR- you can immerse yourself in a more populated mode (apparently?) but in doing so you must change your entire approach if you are to have any hope of surviving a 3,000DPS alpha strike. Which changes your experience of the game.

If your approach is obviously incorrect for the situation, then you should obviously change your approach.

Obviously.

.

Fdev just needs to put something in the game that will give gankers something to do and a reason to PvP with each other and ganking in elite will almost disappear overnight.

.

That's hogwash. Hogwash, I say. I'd say what I really mean, but the profanity filter would not allow it.

You do know that there are players who just want to gank, right? End of. Just gank. That's all they will do, nothing else, ever. Here endeth the lesson in reality.

Another disingenuous trope.
Reel it out often?

The point here is that my leisure time belongs to *me*, and I'll do something in the game that I *enjoy*.
Sure, I *could* adopt the "correct approach" (according to Zaphod), but in doing so, I'd diminish my enjoyment of the game. So, no, you don't get to say what the "correct approach" might be. Sorry about that, old bean, but you have no authority here to foist that onto other players :)

So you would push the changes you'd like through to the detriment of anyone who thinks the game is just fine as it stands.

This we know.

The sad thing is that FDEV has listened to players like you instead of sticking to their original vision.

Despite its flaws, E:D was a great game once.

/sigh

I will when we finally get Open PvE servers. Until then there's no way that I would step foot in that toxic wasteland.

No thanks. It's Mobius or Solo for this CMDR.

#notyourcontent

Oh really? So was that in Mobius or Solo... that image of you killing a harmless Cmdr in an Asp with your FDL?

So you don't like the game then.

It happens.

His #NotYourContent post was sarcasm.

Reading comprehension young man! :D

I'm not even trying to care. I gave up on this thread after reading the absurd PvP system in the OP.

Full disclosure though, when I started playing this game I was carebear AF. I started in Open, got blown up in eravate, and went to Solo. A few months later I decided to go back into Open, I still was flying unmodded ships and didn't know anything about the game, but Open quickly grew on me as my preferred game mode. I even got curb stomped a couple of times in my harmless days, but I also had a lot of fun encounters and have met some good folks.

Now it's pretty much all I log into. On occasion if I just feel like doing my own thing, or if I know I have a dodgy internet connection or something, I'll go Solo. But other than that, it's all Open play.

Nice try at putting words in my mouth, eh. But busted. Never said that.

What I *did* say is that I think this system would "suit" E: D.
I categorically never said I'd push it through to anyone's detriment.

Are you guys all the same, it what?

LOL

I too was carebear. My early posts on this forum prove this.

Then I got bored. Tried PvP, and it still makes me literally shake & quiver in excitement.

I think it's a fetish.

Another disingenuous load of old hogwash.

Keep trying, chaps, maybe you'll get something right sooner or later. But I won't hold my breath.

LOL LOL

You said it yourself.
You just don't realize it yet.

The only one being disingenuous is you, even to yourself.
