Honestly, I was really just hoping for Krait Phantom ship kit. I prefer the plain white tactical ice paint job, but the top of the phantom is soooooo oddly bare, in comparison to the Mk II. Yeah I'm a spoiler fan, but in my roleplaying mind I actually consider them to be a sensor array, then an actual aerodynamic spoilier... because space. Yeah. :)

Well... black ship on black background is not my favourite colors combination :p
Anyway I don't have the Black Midnight paint available for my second CMDR, the one joining DW2.

Speaking for myself, I don't really like any of the single color paint jobs. I prefer my ships to look more interesting than that, so I'm not a fan of the "standard 3", nor the gold, the silver, or the black paints. I love and own paints like the Horus, Squadron, Expedition, any paint job with a few colors and some design aspect to it. I don't care for the Predator though because IMHO they just look like a five year old smeared some colors over a ship and called it a day, they just don't appeal to me.


My Phantom will sadly be flying the stock paint job for the next year.

I fully agree, that's why I would be happy even with some ASPX paintjob adapted to the Phantom. Arrowhead is my favourite for my ASPX. But I also like the Pharaoh ones and the Horus Kit.

Cheer up, there's still time. I'm sure you'll be able to repaint your ship at the station being built during the expedition, so that gives them several more weeks to put out interesting stuff.

Frontier aren't "parents", and the customers are not "children". This is business regarding monetary transactions for goods, your analogy isn't applicable.

When my son's asking me if he could buy a hamburger I'm not gonna say, no but you can buy this carrot instead.
People, including me, were asking, not demanding, for the shipkit and some nice paints, to buy them, no one asked if Frontier would give them anything.
Personally I find it a bit dumb Fdev didn't listen, lots of those people wont be near any outfitting station for quite a while.
They could've earned quite some money here, them putting the shipkit and some cool paints in the store for the Phantom would've been a win win.

Apart from that it's kinda funny that the Phantom paintjobs are not included in the Exploration sale thing, and also not the explorer nameplates. Bought them anyway though. :D

Do you imagine if they HAD listened, they could have created new ship kits and other alternative paint packs immediately? I don't think thats how it works.

It looks like they deliberately tried - not because of this thread - to release some of the most popular skins in time. Sounds like it's a 'well done Frontier' that should be echoing through the forum, not complaints.

Eh, you might be right, I certainly don't have metrics to prove or disprove that. However I do know those four are some of my personal LEAST favorite paint packs.

Imho I think that most new shipkits and paintpacks were already included in the 3.3 update, when they put them up for sale you unlock them when you buy them.
I don't think you download anything when buying them, you just unlock them.

Hey, "nice paints" is pretty subjective don't you think? I like the predator paintjobs but since you don't, it's unacceptable? Not what "we" wanted? You don't think this comes off as childish? Acting like it's a right to get what you want, when you want it, just because you can pay for it? What about, oh, I don't know, half the ships out there with dedicated long-time pilots that haven't received better skins or ship kits yet, are they less entitled? But you feel like you're entitled for them to rush one out before dw2 because _______?

To be fair tactical is probably a popular choice because it's the only way to get something resembling a black ship outside the two week sale window each year and it's the only way to get a white ship at all if you don't fly Gutamaya.

Vibrant can look OK, albeit boring. I only own one and it was bought specifically so I could make my T-9 look even more like a council bin lorry than it usually does.

Military though :rolleyes: :D

Predator has looked pretty nice in Screenies that have been posted in the past, a lot lot better than the store images imply. But I am sure the new lighting effects will play havoc with the colors at times, but that goes for all the paint jobs except black.
