If I wanted a 'radio-tuning' game I would have rather bought an old radio.

System map, galaxy map, FSS, external camera and multi crew gunner are all ‘out of chair’ situations.

You forgot outfitting. That's why I fly stock E-rated ships, because I hate having to play a minigame to outfit my ride, breaks my immersion. I should be able to do that from the cockpit!

That only works if players are able to survey/filter a lot of systems per hour to find those worth spending a long time to explore. The galaxy is huge after all and there are not so surprisingly a lot of very uninteresting systems in the galaxy.

To make discoveries special they need to be rare. I don't think a lot of players get exited when they find a icy planet.

If the gameplay surrounding exploration is engaging that absolutely doesn't matter. Just like with a proper flight model every space fight can be fun, and you dont need to spend hours jumping around to find that 'one interesting opponent'. The goal should be that every fight is fun, and every system has something because stellar forge creates unique conditions to fly in/find things. Spending time developing ways to make it easier to skip the boring stuff is a bit... nihilistic. Update the rock scatter system, add atmo that impacts the flight model depending on the planet, add microbial life and such and some simple gameplay loop that allows you to find->analyze it and every icy planet can become interesting. Or at least more interesting than "look, when you check the system map these giant purple balls are underneath rather than next to each other, how quaint." :p

Uh, what it is is effectively a hud onto your visor that replaces your first person view, I suppose if you wanted to not have it 'shift' they could do something to make it look more like an overlay, but saying "out of cockpit" breaks immersion is a bit much in my book, first person is first person, it is the future, if your whole line of sight is replaced with that hud, which easily could be done with what has been seen ingame, why would it break your immersion?

Yup and why do we even have to fly ships, it's future!
Instead of sitting in cockpit and flying ships we could have ship icon on galaxy/system map showing our movement.
Ships computers doing all the work, we just need to pick destination and watch system map till we get notice that our ship has been landed.

Joke aside goal should be flying and manage ship systems from cockpit giving us feel of being pilot of the same ship that interacts with ships systems on most immersive way.
Too much excusses here; use your imagination, it's future, bla bla bla at cost of the fun.

But its not. Its obnoxious. Worse than that its been forced on us with an accept it or leave mentality. You will never replace ADS exploration with FSS exploration. Its just wont happen.

It already happened, you just dont like it. And the more you repeat yourself while others are trying to have a discussion, the less I care about you and your complaining. :)

It already happened

Nope. Its like when an actor takes over a role and they say in regard to the previous actor, you can take his place but you can never replace him. I dont need to go over it again cause its been explained to you already, even on the previous page the reasons why.

And i mean, i have to hope that this was actually a mistake by FD and despite the gloating of trolls, that they actually do care about the part of the community they have cut off with this and that there is still hope for some changes. I know you dont care, but thats why my posts arnt really addressed to you, its just when odd false statements turn up they need to be challenged. Like the 75 systems bit.

75 systems bit?

Ideally we would get both. Enjoyable gameplay loops for finding interesting, but more common, things inside systems and enjoyable gameplay loops for finding interesting systems (and/or systems with rarer things inside).
The very rare things are already there - see codex - more varied things like that, maybe more common, would be nice.

What players consider interesting is, obviously, very varied and subjective. More options would, in my opinion, be nice to have.

Sidenote: even having the frequency spectrum of the FSS displayed after the D-scanner honk on the left side of the HUD (where the system info is) would be a huge improvement in my opinion - it could look similar to "equalizer display" used in mining.

This was one of the most requested features during beta, and I dont think anyone disagreed or opposed it. Its the kind of UI change that isn't unthinkable to happen. :)

There is a certain kind of person thats very good at sucking up and very good at pushing their agenda and shouting everybody else down. When enough of them get together they can influence games. The results are often disaterous, just look at fallout 76. Im starting to wonder if there is not something similar happening with this game. In the long run everybody who isnt part of that group gets driven away. Is this really what we all want?

So now FD redesign of exploration is a conspiracy by a group trying to kill the game, where's me tinfoil hat.[woah]
