State of Game after 4 years, multiplay is a Nightmare

what do you think guys.

Today we have server isues if a view people are online the same time compared to the whole sales.
Should it be posible that 25% minimum of the sales can be online the same time.
Bug counts are amazing, crashing is amazing high, it´s kind the end of the line. Communication about bug fixing almost not existing.
Getting salty more and more.
You can play it but there isn´t a lot of enjoyment with all that freezes, multiplayer bugs. The multiplayer aspect or even the multicrew aspect isn´t realy playable.

Frontier has to do something cause even the hardcore fanboys are not amused

What does it say if one of their biggest streamer plays x4 on a sceduled Elite Stream?

There is amazing work in parts of the game, but what is it worth if you can´t play it.

Can't argue. I think Frontier have got to have a look at where they want this to go. The last update could have been postponed until this month and they'd have had far less grief. It feels like the update was rushed out purely to keep up with business targets. If that's the case I think there will be problems in future as I don't think Frontier can compete on terms of pushing out multiple cheaply done releases based on short term profit.

The only way round this for me is ensuring each update is properly resourced. If this means all additional content is paid for, then fine. I don't know how many more bug ridden updates like the last one the game can take.

Just look at my signature. Despite enjoying the new exploration tools, I'm moving ED to an external drive to make room for some new games I just ordered (on disc) that should arrive later this week. I think I've finally reached "stage 5" of accepting the reality that this game will never be fixed properly. If it is, well then I'll be pleasantly surprised.

Thankfully I am very hopeful regarding the game Starfield that aims to be a "better Elite" than ED is :D

I've been saying this. Frontier promised a lot and has basically not delivered on a lot of their promises. Game is content starved. Jurassic World game suffers the same thing. I don't know anyone who really gets serious about Planet Coaster despite old Roller Coaster tycoon was fun (as a kid...). So what is taking these guys so long to make anything viable or fun? Where's our content? Thankfully other games exist.

I'd put good money on it being a Mass Effect style game, so no FPP space flight, and using the creaky ... Creation Engine, so not even as good (animation, story, engine wise) as the ME games (and I'm including the first one in that comparison). Also pretty sure it's gonna be a Bethesda Online Launcher only and no modding, just the Creation Club; ie, paid mods (or mini DLC if you prefer).

Same question to you and anyone else - if it's really so bad, why are you here? You're under no obligation to be here, are not contributing anything useful, so....

It's kind of like this - if you hate the food at a particular restaurant, why would you keep going there?

I see a lot of people demanding Tesla stop making electric cars because gas cars are the way things are supposed to be done....over and over again!

Your right, a game can only handle a certain amount of bugs.
Like a tree can only take so many chops until---you know.

Gamblers fallacy. Sunk too much time and money into the game already to just walk away. Have to double down and hope for the best. Same reason why I used to be a hardcore WoW player and it took until the BFA expansion to force my hand to permanently walk away from everything Blizzard (thank god too, finally have time for others games such as Elite and half my steam library and console games).

I can't afford to walk away just yet. Gotta keep going and hope for a miracle. In the meantime I just like to complain about everything wrong.

I see a lot of people with investments in Big Oil who recognize Tesla as a threat to their financial stranglehold over others too.

Go Elon! Killer of Giants.

Refused WoW. Will not support the pay-to-play model ever.

As for the Gambler's Fallacy...

Pretty much sums it up perfectly.

The machine has become more and more complex and will continue to do so which will mean it breaks down more and more.

FDev do pretty well from my point of view and as matter of fact have surpassed my expectations.

Planetary landings was a thing I didn't expect for years after launch yet it arrived quite quickly and I even remember some said it would never happen.

No question it has problems but nothing that can't/won't be fixed with time.

There are some that will never be happy with what they got and thankfully I'm not one of them.

There's no doubt that the multiplayer is a joke in this game. At best it can handle medium sized get togethers with the usual rubber banding and blue tunneling that we've all become habituated to, but every time there's a righteously big gathering the game acts like it's going through an existential crisis, essentially rendering it unplayable for many people. I'd say on the tech end of things, Fdev gets a pretty poor grade. Trying to play today was a frickin' embarrassment, total unmitigated garbage.

I was able to play just fine... I just happened to play No Man's Sky.

Yeah i keep hoping and complaning but i dont really believe its ever going to be in good shape either as far as bugs, continuity of gameplay etc.

You just got to play it the way it lays, im resigned to it too.

And i will check out starfield.

Dude, you seriously made me laugh out loud right there! Today was my first day playing ED in over six months, as I've been doing other things lately, and my experience was very bitter sweet. I did have a LOT of fun seeing all my old friends at the DWE Beacon in Open, but it was seriously marred by horrendous performance issues that finally made the game unplayable.

I am trying to understand why they are unable to fix all existing elements of the game. Some of the bugs are present for years, those are not game breaking but really annoying like NPC ships taking your landing spot.

FD can really make some things nice when they want - new mining I am looking at you... but for some reason they either don't know how to fix current issues or they do not want to spend resources on it.

Or bigger fish to fry.
