I hope DW2 gets ganked all the way to Beagle Point.

I've never understood those who take pleasure in going out of their way to spoil other people's fun, it seems a very odd mind set. Nonetheless, in open, it is valid game play and not bad publicity for FDev, or the game.

However joining a private group to flout the rules of that group is not valid play, and needs to be discouraged and even punished.

So I ask again,

wouldn't it be good to have a switch for private group owners that could turn "player to player damage" on or off?

No.
That is called 'more private' group or 'solo'. Just watch with who you are playing. Its also part of game.

Its probably a good thing you cant understand them...

It's not that I'd care very much. This (PG - switch for player to player damage) would be an option that wouldn't annoy anyone playing open at least.

2 srvs and a DSS if you fly with shields and a fuel scoop, though I'd be inclined to trade an SRV for an AFM unit.
Wow. That's impressive. I'm going to try to make one of those too when I come back from DW2.

Prismatic shield, I guess? What's the jump range?

Can you give a link to coriolis or shipyard?

Coriolis is offline at the moment for links I think, and Im on my.phone so it aint great.

Seriously? 700, with cargo, and 3000 mj shield?

Ok. I'm here to learn. I got the boost up to 650 in Coriolis, and far from 3000 mj shield. What's the trick I'm missing?

You have to tell the secret. I can't get the mj over 1000 in coriolis. What am I doing wrong?

Im sorry, sarcasm doesnt always travel well. :D

What I was trying to highlight through a bit of tongue in cheek overexageration was i use one of what is widely regarded as the worst ships.in the game, yet using a bit of common sense, a modicum of flight skills and a little engineering, regularly run rings around wannabe gank types at CGs and in Hutton space (where I've been for the most part of late), including wings of them.

If I can do it in an like that, anyone can.

The first statement shows your victim mentality. Maybe they do it because they enjoy shooting other CMDRs in a pvp game (or mode)?

That said, it's pretty lame IMO to join a PG with PvE rules and break them.

No worries. :)

Ok. So it wasn't 3000 mj I hope? I'm going bald here pulling my hair! I'll charge you for Rogain! xD

Well, my view is, that sure, you can prepare and maybe good enough pilot to do it, and you especially can do it 100% of the time, but a lot of pilots won't be that good or have experience, time, credits, engineering, skills, knowledge to do it. So my attitude is valar morgulis. We put ourselves in harms way, and we might be as prepared as we can be without compromising what the activity is, and yet be killed, and it's okay. It's part of the game. I just accept the risk and the chance of being killed, and the best preparation is to be cool about it.

Just consider that a large portion of the members on DW2 are new players. I talked to some who started playing over Christmas. They haven't had the chance to learn FAOff, engineering, or even build enough credit to get the right ships or modules. So there's a portion of people who just aren't ready and didn't know the risks. So the first lesson for them: prepare for the danger, there's a risk, just accept it and be cool.

Then they can start learning.

By the way, your Combat rank on your signature Inara picture says "Novice"... yeah... right! :D

Obviously yes. The whole intent for some of these PG's is to get away from PvP. This does not prevent those from enjoying PvP from doing so in open. To join one of these groups just to troll those who want PvE is malicious for sure and Frontier needs to really muster up a bit of courage here and give those who don't want to deal with PvP some basic tools/options. I can't believe that this option still does not exist, and all the raging threads on this issue today are such a waste of time that could be very easily fixed.

A funny sidenote: just logged into game in open,
a known ganker on my friendlist is already at the first waypoint system
I guess this ganktrain has no brakes until beagle :D

I truly hope this is what happens for the next several months. Object lesson in progress.

Welcome to Elite: Not Very Dangerous. lol.

I would support a pve open mode (where you could not be attacked unless you yourself raised a 'pvp' flag), IF...you were automatically flagged as a viable pvp target while;

Carrying PP items
Pledged to a hostile power to me (this is on a by-encounter basis, i.e. A hudson pledge can attack freely a Duval pledge and vice versa, anywhere)
In any Anarchy or 'None' government (i.e. anarchy and uninhabited systems)
Wanted for any crime

Agree with the sentiment and non bolded 100%

PP needs so much more fixing (throwing away and rebuilding), that I feel the bolded suggestions would be used pretty much sole-ly to murderhobo. Pledging is already widely done just for modules, this would be just one more reason to treat pledging as roleplay-meaingingless. Also might serve to drive the rare 1% of PP haulers who actually play in open back into solo as they would be the only easily found gank targets. Even though those very rare open haulers tend to be good pilots who could evade, it would be incredibly frustrating to have one chain interdiction after another. Nor would it really hit the mark since it wouldn't be power vs. power warfare, it would be power vs. ganker warfare.
