Elite Dangerous has sold 3m copies, Horizons 1.3m (43% of basegame owners)

Sandro was originally opposed to the suggestion, but was overridden by forces beyond his control.

We may also see a station named after Ed Lewis in response to current forum feedback. I hope so.

Why? It's not needed to glorify game developers in-game like that imo. Except Braben of course.

Regarding the OP, I have a spicy hot take... Anyone who doesn't have horizons by now is missing out and should get horizons. There is really no reason not to.

Very true, and it's such a minimal actual price during sales now.

Agree with both of you. One very simple way for FD to shut all these discussions down is to tell us how many currently active players (i.e. those that have played in the last 6 months) only have the base game. I suspect it would be a very small number!

That seems pretty low. Then again, what did Horizons really offer after planetary landings anyway? A few more ships and an ship upgrade grind.

It does, but then I wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't. A lot of people buy a game, play it once, and then never touch it again. xD In that light 43% might be a great percentage. *shrug*

This.

Not really relavent to the issue of sales but it'd be interesting to see what percentage of regular players (excluding Mac owners, I'm afraid) own Horizons.
I dunno how anybody could play ED for more than a few hours, know that they could land on planets and choose not to buy Horizons.

Yes, it's absurd at this point to just play the base game. Horizons IS THE GAME now. And I'm sure there is (almost?) no one still playing the base game in 2019.

Actually 43% seems pretty high. Don't forget that people usually don't buy a game and still play it 4 years later.
