Lol, nice shot.

I miss the Groms on my main account.
I might have my FSD dumbfires sent out.

Thanks :)

Yeah, these are poor man's groms - never got the real ones. I'm catching up on my PP weapons.

1 x Rapid Fire FSD Interrupt
1 x Sturdy Penetrator

They make a nice pair :)

Nice, I usually mod the Groms with Penetrator.
I only got the Pacifiers last Thursday for this account.

Watched some of the vids.....
Wow.... Such a challenge. It's so impressive how you have to coordinate pressing the fire button once and.... Well, that's it really :/

Right?

Just imagine how much more difficult it would have been if those CMDRs had... oh, I don't know... pitched or rolled or something?

I think if you wanted ze prey to be competent at fighting you should have attacked the great galactic pvp gathering party not DW2 . Blaming the seals that they are seals .
Anyway where i PVP (world of warships ) people shun you for using cheese builds on high tiers and for just preferring to play on lower tiers . Cheese things on lower tiers are so abhorrent that only a very small population have the stomach to use but in elite they are doing it and cherry on top almost always in 4:1 ratio . I know the "you are good" feeling you get by driving an ORION at tier IV but it's misleading .Doing it in a 4:1 ratio ? Lol !

Are you familiar with the Distant Worlds 2: Sudden Mystery Expedition? That one had a jump range requirement of 62 ly, because the destination needed such. Turns out the organizer got plenty of - entirely undeserved, in my opinion - flak for this, accusing them of being elitist, unfriendly to beginners, and so on. After that, there's little wonder they didn't want to set any such requirements again.
It wouldn't have helped with the combat situation anyway, though.

Endurance exploration Krait Phantom: https://s.orbis.zone/1xjh (unladen range 64.94 LY, full self-sustaining build, fast scoop)
Same, but with enough firepower to destroy any ship not set up for combat: https://s.orbis.zone/1xjl (unladen range 64.59 LY, identical exploration capabilities, 850 alpha DPS, 140 sustained, and if it runs out of ammo it's got an SRV to prospect for more)

Lightweight G5 weapons are basically massless, and do all the damage of the normal unengineered type. Having a large minimum range requirement reduces the variety of ship hulls both explorers and hostiles can use, but doesn't fundamentally change the situation.

Hey Halceon

To start with, have a quick look at this raw T-6 build. If you just swap the 4A and 5A shield gen out, you'll see what I was talking about in regards to the 5A gen being a waste, as it uses more power and only gives you 7 or 8 mj over the 4A.

https://s.orbis.zone/1wwu

Here are a couple 1 booster builds you can do for the T-6. With combos of mods on the shield gen, booster, and your core internals. Since the T-6 doesn't have tons of available power, I opted for specials that reduce power draw.
(These are assuming you have access to Farseer, Dweller, and Cheung)

https://s.orbis.zone/1wwv
https://s.orbis.zone/1www

You can play with more combos to see what gives you the best "effective shields". This is found on the defense tab at the bottom of the coriolis build screen - set 4 pips to sys and use the effective shields chart to get see how your shields will stack up against different damage types.

You can add an extra booster if you want to, like a Heavy duty E booster...

https://s.orbis.zone/1wx2

Or keep that extra utility slot for point defense, or some other module.

Play with it and you might find some combo that's even better. But best to remember that no matter how you mod a T-6, there is a lot of stuff out there that can kill you. Your best bet is to make sure you are practicing good escape procedures, and ideally make sure you're paying attention in supercruise so you don't have to escape an interdiction in the first place.

Thanks for the build suggestions. From what I'm seeing there, I could roughly double (or triple?) my current shield strength (125 -> 250-300) and hull integrity (300->600), while keeping the same boost (~500) at the cost of about 10 ly jump distance (45 -> 35), depending on what else I take with me. That's a trade-off I could consider in the bubble (and in fact, already do, partially), and it would certainly allow me to make it across the galaxy. On the other hand, it's a big enough drop in ly that it could effect my ability to keep up, knowing my real-world time constraints.

On a more philosophical note, I usually play in open and personally don't mind trading an occasional death for the added danger of a PvP attack. I think fondly back on my shock at the first Thargoid interdiction back in 1984, and the danger from other humans in 2019 is the closest I get to that in this game--wow, I just realized we were the monsters all along! But I've got my own mental picture of what the galaxy is like, and I wouldn't want to lose the ability to turn other humans off when what they're doing is straying too far that picture--and that includes things other than too much PvP, as well.

Thanks, man!

I killed an Asp that looked like that today, and when I saw your signature thought it might have been you. Turns out it was some other nice fella.

Nah that is my old ship from DW1. Have a type 9 now. Also I have no interest in being griefed and ganked in (for me) a chilled out exploration game. TBH the amount of gankers made elite no longer fun to play so I only do exploration events every few years now. Anyway well done continuing to drive away players from an actual interesting event...

Anyway any half decent PVP players that actually had an interest in playing combat should have instead organised a great event like DW2 but focused on a PVP war with two factions fighting it out. Instead all I see are a few trolls and griefers, same as in any MMO. Its quite sad really but not unexpected. Anyway not an issue for use flying in a PG, but a shame for many new players if they are just put off the game like this. All the seal clubbers are literaly a cancer in this game and I hope one day the Devs work on stopping this but also give real PVP players something better to do. I wish there was more actual pirates in this game and less gankers.

They won't, the great filter is yet to come!

The problem with the Great Filter™ is that we just don't know. More, we may not actually be capable of knowing... yet.
Everything that's been postulated as a Great Filter™ has been done through our current knowledge and ability to predict. That in itself is a limitation.
We don't even know for certain if there even is such a thing. We've assumed it because on our little rock (not exactly a useful sample set considering), species have gone extinct in the past, and we keep coming close to destroying ourselves due to foolishness. Nothing in that says it has to be a universal thing.

On the other hand, as a species, we do seem to be rather self destructive, so I agree that our survival to say 3305 is somewhat in doubt.

No matter how altruistic and gentlemanly the bullies may be IRL, in-game they are simply bullying children that don't know any better.

Forgive them and forget about them.

And put them on your inevitably growing ignore list.

There are beautiful and inspiring things in this game that deserve your unique attention, too!

Did you see the PDF stat tracker that Qohe-, er, I meanRyan_m posted on the DG discord channel? Distant Ganks has killed over 10% of the total body of signed up DWE2ers (and counting). Good work you guys!

My god you guys are daft if you think you killed 10%.

Wait let me rephrase that.

My god you guys are daft :)

At least this has showed me you're a lying sack of .... you have proved those who kicked your sorry butt right. I would have trusted you. They didn't. They were right. I was naive.

Dude. You think these Doofus Yoghurts can organise anything? Have you met them?

Next time you hear them whining about PvP features or Open Only Powerplay you can point at this thread. This is why you will always be the Elite sideshow. Because of these pillocks.

But this is how their tiny minds work. They're clubbing the same seals over and over and think it represents 10% of the fleet. lmao. Most of the players on dw2 are in mobius, fleetcom or solo.

Soon there wont be anyone to club in open as they'll vanish into private parallel universes and these gankers will have something else to whine about. No one to play with but themselves :x

Well, they're surely showing Frontier how the modes are a brilliant game design. Don't expect any Open Only content fellers. Aint coming. Reason: you. :)
