I keep getting denied docking

Is the OP spending a lot of time trying to dock at Platforms, perhaps?

On a vaguely related note, anybody know what happens if you have a DC fitted and you get allocated a pad that's got an NPC ship sat on it?

When this happens to me you just end up queued in a holding pattern with the timer running down. Had to relog into solo to get rid of him.

Best I've had, just returned from Colonia, plywood Conda.
DC tried to put me on another Cmdr still at the bottom of a lift.:D

This is my first week playing ED and I haven't shed my noob skin yet. I was experiencing the same issue earlier and couldn't gain access, even though I had no problem earlier at the same station. Eventually, I figured out why. I had my weapons deployed. >.<

Perhaps this is the issue? It's not so embarassing for me, I'm a noob. For a seasoned played, I'd imagine it's utterly humiliating. Therefore, if you want to save face, just pretend like you didn't make my mistake. I'll understand. =P

Hello everyone, thank you for the suggestions! I fixed the bug by performing a hard reset on my machine, so it was very possibly not caused by the game itself. I found another thread where they fixed it by closing out of the game and rebooting.

At least you didn't accidentally tag anything with them in the NFZ, the station would erase you.

This happened to me recently. An asp, stood on it's tail in the corner.I tried to dislodge it,but just got warned.Solution was as you described.OP's problem sounds like not close enough to the station before requesting docking.Sometimes, you just have to wait it out.

Happened to me yesterday. ASP stuck on edge of docking bay. However, I managed to "gently" push it out of the way with my FAS without getting the pad penalty. But the ASP frameshifted out and came back to try to dock again and got stuck again!!! This time I just knocked it out of the pad and quickly requested docking as soon as the ASP frameshifted out. NPC never thanked me.

Apologies for the double post. I'm still new to the forum and can't edit my posts since I have to wait for mod approval.

When I go to a station where you land on the outside, I'm always given hangar #3. If I arrive at the station and an NPC (I play solo) is using hangar #3, I have to wait until they leave before the station will allow me to dock.

Like Phong and Blas Ducreaux, sometimes it's glitched and the departing ship gets stuck on the edge of the hangar, so the hangar doesn't reset. Usually I have to log out of the game to reset it. It doesn't seem to glitch if I keep my distance from the station but close enough to request docking.

That's an outpost. They're small with a very limited number of pads. The pad you get is determined by your ship size.
So there's many times where another ship, npc or player, can be blocking the pad. but I've not seen the ship stuck on the edge of the hangar before. If you can grab a video of it, submit a bug report.
In any event, you shouldn't see these kinds of issues with the larger stations because there's plenty of pads in the coriolis/orbis stations.

Yes! An outpost! Still learning the lingo. lol

I had correctly assumed the assigned hangar was related to the ship's size. Like I said, it's always hangar #3 that's had a stuck ship. It's only done it a couple of times so far. Most of the time, the ship flies vertically out of the bay and clears the hangar. It seems to occur if the ship flies horizontally and gets stuck on the edge. I tried giving it a nudge, but almost got my wrist slapped by the outpost for trespassing, I think. I wondered if my proximity to the hangar was a contributing factor, but it's not like I was a few feet away. I was in position to land about a kilometer or two away. Nevertheless, I moved back another kilometer, just in case.

Is a pic ok if it happens again? If not, I suppose I can download Fraps. /
