Yes, if you're stupid enough to try to stab him to death, you're going to loose, but if you use armour degrading attacks, you can typically remove that issue and kill them nonetheless, the difference here , is knowing the game mechanics.
A big ship is not a free pass to total invulnerability. Nor should it be quite frankly. They are SUPPORT vessels, not attack vessels. If you fly it like the latter, you are going to loose.

I don't think high payouts should even be remotely achieveable before a certain rank.
I totally agree, any other ship size and i think at least twice about attacking even if pledged to another power, but big ships are just too "juicy" because they have reached that far without actually learning the game. I understand that people want to make money in the game thats not really the issue for me but these schemes results in the wrong progression curve imho.
I think I'm gonna start interdicting any CMDR in big ships below master rank in my squads home system... just to make sure they know how to fly... maybe they will understand the difference between gear based and skill based gameplay...

Or are you talking about the fact that using speed and maneuverability and flying backwards, firing ships from a distance from a weapon rails ...?
We useless pilots who fly big ships sure are lucky to have these selfless, public-spirited PvP guys to teach us the errors of our ways. God forbid anyone should just be allowed to enjoy the lovely things they have done the grind for without being hassled and patronized.
As for interdictions here's the problem I have. I played for months in Solo before I ever dipped a toe in open. And in Solo, I just learned to laugh at interdictions. I don't recall ever 'losing' one. Very easy to win the mini game.
Open? Different story. I never win, just learned you gotta submit every time, then be forced to fight or flee. In real life, if I'm walking down the street and I get yelled at, I have the right to just ignore it and walk on. In the ED universe I am expected to bow down to the star lords and take my punishment. Not gonna happen boys, not now, not ever.
Big ships have the potential to be the tankiest ships in the game. I fought a corvette for 20 minutes yesterday. Point being that a big one should be able to take some damage before waking. And there's no large ship that is mass locked by a medium. Losing an interdiction shouldn't be an issue.
My point is that there seems to be a clear imbalance between my experience of interdiction in Solo, and the very same thing in Open. Why? is it fair? There is occasionally discussion (sometimes from PvP enthusiasts I think) of how the game should 'teach' us how to survive, how to fly bettter, how to escape ganking. Surely this counts? The first time I was interdicted by another CMDR I was simply not ready for it.
Since then I have been pulled numerous times by other CMDRs, usually bent on blowing me up. They've only managed it once, when I was flying my unarmed 'paper plane' explo Krait into Shinrarta coupla weeks back. I was dozing off, not paying attention, all my fault. Right after I popped I actually laughed. I mean... why bother? *chuckle*
I have survived a number of encounters in my big ships, taking damage of course. Expect to keep on doing so. I would be more willing to put my heart into such fights if the fight seemed fairer. As soon as my attacker resorts to knocking out all my shielding with vibrating torpedoes, I've had enough.
When all is said and done CMDR Danicus is right in his suggestions that PvP needs a better outlet for Player Killers to get their rocks off.

The difference here, is NPC vs Player.
If you are expecting players to be as much of a cake walk as the NPC's, you are very much mistaken.
The AI is tripe in interdictions in open.
If you're asking me to believe that avoiding interdiction fails in Open just because the AI is poor in solo, I can't. I say it's a rigged game. In solo I got very good at keeping that escape vector centered. More than once I've struggled against the interdiction in open with the escape vector just as centered as I ever had it in solo, but still lose the mini-game.
And I love my big ships Turnie old sport, it'd take more than you and your brethren to drive me out of them. And if I give the impression I am being constantly targeted, I apologise. That isn't the case I assure you, and I enjoy many positive encounters with some great people in open.

...if you're going to complain that big ships are "iMbAlAnCeD" because you insist on flying something that is poop tier in interdictions people are going to scoff at you.
