Are you just cryptically referring to firing a chaffed hitscan weapon when the drifting reticle crosses the target's hull?
Nope, I mean here that firing gimball weapon when there is no taget selected, with "fixed" mode. I did explain about it bit more in next lines bellow of that statement, did I? [woah]
With "difficult and not obvious for anyone", I mean very much this^^^^ , certainly not something cheap, like you just tried to imply with "drifting reticle" thing.
Using gimball weapon like that is certainly difficult, hence not so obvious... since it is difficult, and requires some decent skill with fixed aim also bit of knowledge when and how to use it when deal with variety of bulids.
Here, if you still dont know what I am taking about, there is simple example:
Gimball bursts fire against enemy ship > enemy ship uses chaff > gimballs got "drifting reticle" all over taget > gimballs de-select their taget > gimballs can now fire in fixed mode without "drifting reticle"... whats left for it, is to keep "aim" on enemy ship without having it locked-on. Done.
Yes I'm aware chaff runs out. Your message is very vague; a build that only needs to hit shields; not obvious to everyone; etc.
I guess youre just got it wrong, what I meant. See, my bulid combines two things, power of packhounds and power of phasing... We all know what packhounds can do to unshielded taget... but does anyone know how to properly use a phasing against meta? Truesilver and I do, but many dont. Why aint is so popular? its simple too, cuz it cannot kill. I cant possible image to get killed by phasing, that bleed dps is way too slow to get kill. Thats why aint is so popular. For me getting a win is all whats matters for me so I am keen to use phasing against meta bulids. Its works.
Phasing? CMDR Truesilver did a video or two on beating chaffed meta builds from a phasing gimballed hitscan build.
Care to share details or just tell us all you can beat the meta and leave it at that?
Why not, since you insist... First I must ask you... you are even aware why it works so well?... Against like typical meta FDL's with 3PA and 2 rails? Because gimball fire arc is superior against all fixed(especially if they aint hitscan) loadouts due of one main diffrence, that gimball bulid can attack and evade at same time vs fixed, while fixed meta bulids vs gimball, can either just evade or attack. If they attack, they get shot at, if they evade, they got shot at... Phaser? If really good with evade, unless they make mistake, they wont get hit easly with PA's.
Again, Meta fixed bulids can never attack and evade both at same time. Then you have paper-like hull of meta bulids, due of all SCB's they carry... it does not take this long to wear it down, and more evasive phaser is, then harder time meta user it gets, especially if phaser can deal with chaff... there only few who can do that, I guess.
This is even more noticable if Fixed user is using typical full FAOFF flying styles... if they are using full FAOFF, then they got only cetrain moments during fly-by to have any chance to land thier shots. Phasing user on other hand, can maintain its TOT for almost full time of fight, and if they are faster, they can control distance as well.
Second, I never said I can kill any meta with it... Once I won like 100 or 200 duels with it, only against meta, then I will claim its true meta killer. It wont be happening anytimes soon though, I aint have that much of free time to waste it like this.
And sure, packhounds beat a lot of things. They are the arguably the easiest to use weapon in the game especially paired with emissive and ruin the notion of hulltanks by being OP vs. them. Seems a bit out of place to mention them a post talking about years of skill.
Yep, but they wont beat an meta FDL bulid alone, or something changed when I was not looking? Also are you trying to say that usage of them means automaticly "no-skill", if so, then you are even more limited than you seems to be. For me? dont matters what others use against, I take it all on. Same, if I lose, I only blame my skills that fails me, not that opponent was using "I-win" weapons or loadouts...
