Didn't you hear? You are not permitted to not like something anymore. Otherwise you are part of a hatemob. No disappointment allowed in this day and age!
Have you had a look at the subReddit? Or the comment sections on various gaming sites reporting on it?
Quite a few (now ex-) backers were definitely upset and disappointed at the announcement, and have since got refunds.
Then there’s the Other Ones. Quite a lot, I’d estimate mob-sized, some of whom weren’t backers, being massively over-offended that they’d have to use a different download manager and get a years-worth of free DLC and after 12 months all that from either Steam or GoG anyway, and Epic is spying for the PRC and spyware and Julian Gollop is actually Sean Murray I mean have you actually seen them in the same place at the same time and pirating the game will be safer and that’ll show them and I hope Snapshot games fail forever more and if you’re not bothered by this you’re part of The Problem etc. etc.
There are people posting lengthy diatribes about they can’t do this because of Kickstarters terms and conditions, and how Snapshot just used us all for an interest-free loan. (The game actually used Fig)
Backers genuinely upset by this descision, I have empathy for. I felt the same when offline was dropped from ED. I think they’re making a mistake getting refunds, if they just waited a year they’d still get what they wanted.
The Other Ones, though...
