Its not as bad as it looks/sounds
Thanks, appreciate it.
I wouldn't call that "burning". Smoldering, maybe.
The perception is relative, and if you turn off the two flags (damaged & repairing stations) you can more or less ignore it completely. I did, until one of my regular haunts was damaged, then another & another.
The rate systems are being attacked is broadly increasing, but there is a travelling collective that fights off the incursion (in AXCZs). But that leaves a station mostly disabled & in need of A-B traders and there are not enough of those to stem the tide so more & more are still damaged.
This means lots of T-9s flying around, including mine. There is a strong motivation to skimp on defences for the sake of cargo space, so lots of opportunities for non-lethal piracy, escorts & general emergent fun.
I'm actually grateful that this thread has made me aware that there are groups like Operation Ida who are doing something about the damaged stations. Fixing stations with other cmdrs definitely beats powerplay.
Fair play mate, have some rep! Cat amongst the pidgeons there!
I have never really done PP, lots of people take it really seriously though....

I wonder how far this will go honestly, if frontier will just keep having thargoids attack us and if its up to us to repair these ports. Becuase as of right now I dont see allot of interest in repairing ports haha I personally enjoy thargoid combat but I am not interested in hualing materails atm. I supose there will have to be more insentive provided to the players or at this rate the bubble will be infested by thargoids attacking. Humanity will just have to move to colonia hahahaha
I desperately hope they contact the legitimate Overlord of the Galaxy and not one of those powerplay clowns.I think FD are doing a GM thing here. The Thargoids are going to ramp up the pressure until we really feel it, then there'll be a change. I hope it will be something more interesting than just new more-powerful AX weapons. Maybe the Thargoids will open negotiations or make demands, or another alien faction will intervene. We should see this as a stage in a story rather than just banging heads. I hope.

So the galaxy is burning and .........
1) no one cares
2) a few die hards start trying to repair stations until they realise the work involved. They then have a eureka moment when they realise that no one cares and give it up as a lost cause
3) it's business as usual because only certain types of stations get targeted so the majority of system asset's are still useable.
4) oh I almost forgot to add that "no one cares"
But the biggest fail is that we can't see stations under actual attack, they just flag up magically as damaged. So how can this be remotely believable ? The Gnosis incident was brilliant and you felt like you were actually defending the megaship, so why has this not been implemented right across the board? FDev really dropped the ball with this and missed a fantastic opportunity to improve the alien threat immersion.
Hence the reason "no one cares"
