Anyone else think the body/arms/legs in ED looks too small with OR?

They seem ok to me, but the scale may be a bit less that I'd like.

I'd like to see the upper body animated a bit more, something that I guess will happen when the moving about expansion drops.

Body mass can decrease by up to 30% in zero-G over long periods. Over successive generations, this would likely result in a smaller human. ;) :p

Finally, I can lose a bit of that middle age spread my kids keep taking the mickey about.:D

The body model does appear a little small to me.
I'll also like a lower poly version as looking down is the main cause of stutter.

Agreed, especially "leaning in" and the effects of acceleration should be animated more... right now, the body follows these movements not at all, which results in some very strange "views" of the pilot body from time to time. ;)

Aside from that, however, and the occasional performance hiccups, I LOVE the oculus integration so far... got mine yesterday, and played the heck out of the game all night... it's almost like a completely new game!

Besides: Are there plans for DK2 direct mode support any time soon?

I've suggested that FD create a subforum for VR. That way we can separate configuration tips, delivery updates and general VR news into their own threads. If you regularly contribute or read this thread, you may want to add your views.

http://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php?t=40262

The number of posts and replies would support that subforum. I think it's a good idea.

BTW has the rumor about the next stage OR dev been mentioned? If so, sorry.

We seem a bit light this DK2 batch. It's Thursday evening and only two people on the list turned yellow?

Just tried mine on DVI and couldn't get it to work.

I tried various port combinations and eventually smacked myself when I noticed I'd been trying to use the motherboard connectors. Connectors on the video card worked - shocking news, I know. I say that but both DVI ports where too close together to plug in two DVI adapters. So I took a dremel to the none OR adapter and cut off those screws on either side.

Someone who ordered on 01/07 has gone yellow, but I'm 04/07 and yet to hear anything.

But then I paid for mine up front via Paypal so I'll probably just get the one email - the one that says it's shipped before it shows up the following day...

Just had shipment notification. Should be with me tomorrow!

Taken from Techradar and Vrfocus source article, with this juicy bit:

Multiple sources with knowledge of the matter have told TechRadar and VRFocus that Oculus VR is planning to launch its finalised headset in a limited, Google Glass-style rollout. That rollout will happen "by Summer next year," we've been informed.
So... Friends of friend in the known told me...

I put this under the rumour/speculation icon, until and unless corroborated. This is especially relevant in the search for clicks ahead of the OR Dev meet.

Anyone with the same experience as me?

When I enable CPU Overdrive on my AMD FX-8320, I _should_ get some performance boost, but when in The Rift, all it causes is enormous stutter (not even judder, just very low frame rates) I figure this has something to do with the thermal performance of the CPU, CPU Overdrive temporarily boosts your CPU multiplier, to where it becomes just as hot as it's theoretical safe limit, and (possibly, but this is just guessing) halts it for a couple of cycles to let it cool down again. I disable CPU Overdrive when Rifting.

TL;DR:
Enabling CPU Overdrive on AMD CPU causes stutter in The Rift.

Ordering my DK2 tomorrow (payday).. hopefully it will arrive around the time the GTX880's come out. If my plans within plans succeeds, then, roughly at the same time, I should be getting:

GTX880 Ti
Obutto Cockpit seating arrangement
Oculus Rift DK2
1x ButtKicker Gamer 2 (for rear of the seat)
4x Buttkicker Mini LFE SE

It should be an intense experience

But who knows, my employer is starting to cut jobs, with no prior notification, and I'm not sure if I'm on the cutting block.. regardless, DK2 ordered tomorrow.

It's funny how you get so much things and you think about payday, knowing that you have to pay in anycase with a credit card that will pull down your money next month:S:S:S

I hope there will be the world full of people like you so i can get a reduced money 780ti, enough to move the DK2:D:D
