2nd Anniversary Update

Just by the way: Actually, I had a dream today which consisted of a surprise for the Planet Coaster anniversary update, including switch tracks, more track rides and some other things, while the switch tracks looked kind of weird and more like a prototype (Left side 1 track, right side 4 tracks. Why?) [squeeeeee]

Dreams often reflect your desires, so there. Your Brain did you a favor.

Hi everyone,

If you've read through the entire thread as I just have, you'll likely see that Update 1.9 featuring the Thememakers Toolkit is indeed the Anniversary update. We're really excited for this release, it's a very powerful bit of kit and the team have been working incredibly hard on it. It's going to be awesome to see all the new creations everyone makes with this!

So does that mean no more flat rides this year? Worlds Fair didn’t have any. Maybe more rides next year? I really want a Gravitron, a flying saucer type ride that spins and riders are stuck to the inside. RCT3, RCTW and Parkitect have it.

Hohohoho...."EVERYONE".......NO !!!! , just : SOME PEOPLE.... !!!!!!! Most coasters friends are not "Blender or Maya or.......specialists " . And we 'll have to wait after creators's kindness cause i think they 'll , first , work for their own part .....And it will take a while before we get what we need.....That make the difference ! Isn't it ? [wink]

I work in the 3D design space myself and to be honest the complexity to making and then getting your models ingame is ... daunting. I hope we have some people that love this game and work for a gaming company that know how to 3d model cause I don't see an amateur attempting this.

Honestly after thinking about it for a bit I wished they just added object scalability, even with the issues that brings.

Since it's mentioned on post #65: Update 1.9 featuring the Thememakers Toolkit is indeed the Anniversary update
Just wondering out loud (as the Toolkit is considered a "feature" of update 1.9) will I have to download the Toolkit or is it optional?
I'm aware very few people would have the answer but you never know.
I ask because I'll never use the Toolkit. I know I won't. It's beyond my current knowledge and I don't have the time / desire to learn. I probably don't have the creativity, patience or brains for it either but I digress.
At this point it is what it is most likely. Though my fingers are crossed that the Toolkit is an optional download in addition to update 1.9.

Read this
. There, you're finding the most important informations about the toolkit. And no, you don't need to download the toolkit. It's just an online software and it's optional of course. ;)

The game has to be updated to be able to read content created with the Toolkit of course. That's what 1.9 is all about; a new tab or panel in the scenery tool to place custom stuff that you downloaded via the Workshop.

Thank you both. Makes sense now.
As I've learned from other games, blindly updating can end in tears [wink]

I hope after releasing Thememaker Toolkit, that Planco can start working on other aspects of the game, like more rides, shops and features.

Nope. They are just ignoring it. Like the stream the other day. They say they are going to still support the game but thats not saying there will be more content. Supporting the game could mean occasional patches.. Keeping the theme makers site up.. Etc. It's not.. Making more dlc.. Making more rides.

Also.. Usually when a company puts out a deluxe version with all dlc. That means that's it. It's complete. No more dlc. And let's not forget they did this for the anniversary. Of course this isn't always the case.. But... Worth noting.

It would be extremely nice if they just gave a definite yes or no.. Will there be more content. They don't have to say what it is.. But I would like to know if this is it or not instead of looking forward to a new dlc that may not even come. I really hate the secretive approach they take with the game.. Like.. Nothing at all. Not a peep and then if they do say anything it's speculative and not confirming anything just giving a roundabout answer that can mean anything. I also got the vibes from Sam that this is the end as well from some things he said. And how they acted. Even though he didn't kinda point out that we have said in the past we thought that was it. And then we got more.. It was a lot of other things said that make me think otherwise. It was a pretty disappointing 2 year anniversary for the game In my opinion. Just the theme makers toolkit. Nothing else.. Even the patch fixes were kinda slim pickings. The deep dive into the toolkit gave very little Information. Or direction. I learned like one thing from it.. The rest I am still try to figure out blindly. Other than saying hello in the beginning to chat.. They basically ignored it the rest of the stream..the questions that were answered were from reddit and already prepared beforehand. I mean why even livestream it. That could have just recorded earlier and just uploaded.

[my opinion throughout]

If they stop adding flatrides before putting in a Grand Carousel? I will be very disappointed to have invested years in a park-building game that never provided the bare minimum to make a standard iconic USAmerican park. [cry] I get that they're British and may not understand the issue personally, but they've had enough people telling them, haven't they?

Well, I hope we get to 2.0 next year. I hope to God that Planet Coaster isn’t “finished”, because there’s a lot more they can add. I can make a list of at least ten rides I would like to see in the future. Right now, Planet Coaster is still missing things from RCT3. How about zoos and waterslides? Planet Coaster is the only game without a Gravitron (RCT3, RCTW, and Parkitect have it) and the ability to import working rides. In RCT2, RCT3, TPS, NL2, and Parkitect you can import working rides.

Gravitron
Grand Carousel
Giant Flume
Sports Cars tracked ride
Sky Swing (the one with the big metal arc from RCT3 and RCTW)
Slingshot
S&S Space Shot
Giant Wheel from RCT3 and RCTW
Thunder Bobs from RCT3
Mini Golf if possible

Oh yes, and chairlift/cable car ride please!

I to feel that Planet Coaster isn't finished yet. I hope the game will still be getting updates and new content. I thought the 2 year anniversary was a let down. The only thing that was added for the 2 year anniversary was the Theme Maker Tool Kit really. I was hoping for a bigger update then that. Let's hope the next update is bigger and more content. I would like to see more rides get added to Planet Coaster. We will just have to wait and see.
