This thread is so funny.
I just imagined "Celebrity" Fanpeople controlling the workshop. Just woke up and had a real laugh. Thank you.
But to be serious. Sharing things for free means losing the control and making Frontier "to deal" with it or picking up torches and pitchforks is not a good idea. 30 years experience of sharing in funfair modelling. So I know what i am talking about. My advice would be in this case:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L0MK7qz13bU
and just don't use it.
Reading this thread it sounds to me like the general masses are being discouraged from sharing their creations on the workshop here. The master builder people are good but don't have a monopoly on this. Everyone should have a chance to shine.
the worst is when it happens to you personally, I posted a creation that was successful and a person just copied / pasted it has kept the structure as well as the theme while Modifying some of the content. But instead of downvote the people upvote so the guy is getting subscribers with my creation (a pale copy) and my idea ...
isnt that the point of sharing? for others to use it
Creaper I do not see what it is for you to come to contradict me while you know that I'm right, this is not a desire to debate but Simply from the bad faith towards my person intentionally and this, since the beginning of my messages on this forum.
Are you paid to rot?
I would like to be able to discuss with you in a normal way without bad faith thanks
The rules on Steam are clear prohibition to copy content or make a copy for then publish it. This is normal, we create something we share it to render service in the game and not to make a copy / pasted and then publish it.
It is the same everywhere the one who creates holds the rights and nobody has the right to copy and even less to market it or to publish it without a prior agreement.
AbsoluT, don't think I disagree with you.
I think that when you build something magnificent you should get the credits for it. However, in the current era some people are not honest and "steal" others projects. Reposting them without alterations is of course "not done" but also something you can almost do nothing about then to report it.
And indeed, copyright infringement is based on the content of the game and not the blueprints itself and therefore lies with Frontier.
But sure, I agree that it sucks to see your work being copied by others.
And sometimes buildings just look the same in the workshop because the same pieces are used over and over again, so it is still possible (although the chances are small) that a look a like might pop up without it ever being copied.
But it's not about modders here.....

Copyright
A bundle of intangible rights granted by statute to the author or originator of certain literary or artistic productions, whereby, for a limited period, the exclusive privilege is given to that person (or to any party to whom he or she transfers ownership) to make copies of the same for publication and sale.

And we are not making money out of it.
