Bigger maps confirmed? In this beta video?

The Alpha lands were bigger than Beta. Please fix this problem. Also please bring back the cool landscapes from Alpha. Thank You.

I just wanted to point out something that I noticed. If you zoom out on sandbox, you'll notice that there's a larger square of land that is a lighter color than the rest of the land but the actual build area is smaller within that lighter square. Why is that? But the land outside the build area within the lighter color is very hilly and rocky on the particular scenario that I selected.

this was also in the alpha, you could paint that part so we thought that was gonna be the land we could build on in the beta

I hope with full game this will be the case

Can confirm that bigger maps will probably not be in full release. Hopefully they come not too far in the future! :)

I just saw this beta video on youtube

https://youtu.be/0L4Bd_QXiy8?t=2135

and I think this means we have bigger maps? Can anyone confirm? It certainly looks bigger, like the expected 4 times as big (2 times in both directions)

but I need to be 100% sure. Right now i'm 99% sure

in this video it also looks like its bigger https://youtu.be/kGDm8bHR45Y?t=10

If you are basing that on the two buildings that are on the hills, sorry they are outside the park.

Let's see, when it's actually happening. Maybe a month after release? I still wonder about future plans in general ! [yesnod]

Then for me PC is dead until this is fixed. How can you ruin such a great game with such a stupid decision is beyond my mind. I dont need Developers to hold my hand. I can take care of my FPS by my own.
Another reason to never ever preorder a game. So disappointed....

I would prefer bigger ones too...but is this really a "dealbreaker" for you? Saw the alpha-maps and yes, they are not big but they aren't tiny either. I think it's enough space to build an average theme-park...at least in Europe theme-parks haven't that big areas...and most of the small parks look even nicer and better themed ;)
But okay, every person has his own priorities

yea i absolutely love this game. I've been supporting it for so many months & literally the only issue i think this game has is map size. I've had no motivation to play the beta even though i bought it obviously. I can't make the parks i want. I played the alpha enough to know this. All i want is to spread the park out a little more, i don't even care if the different sections of the park are small, i don't care if there's a lot of blank space that doesn't get used. It wouldn't have more content in the park then it could have now but its just so limiting right now. Something i thought would get fixed for release after the large quantity of posts people have been making about map size on here for so many months. Even if its a cheatcode, even if it has a warning about performance, it needs to be in the game. The content of this game is beautiful & I've spent all year excited to build the parks I've planned but i honestly don't think i'll be diving into this game for a while or until it gets fixed. I really don't want to hate, this game is virtually everything i've been waiting for but they said on fb that it's been a 'really popular idea'. So why hasn't it been sorted. It's been brought up constantly since the alpha released about 6 months ago. The maps are currently 500mx500m. Majority of people that want bigger maps (which is many) would be very happy with 750mx750m-1kmx1km. Such an amazing game that feels limiting.

This! I dont care for career mode. I want to Build a Perfect park over years. I Need Space for this. A lot more Space this Game has to offer right now

I must say this is really dissapointing as well.. As I said in another thread.. What use is transport rides if the map is so small that everyting is within a very short walking distance?? RCT3 had performance issues and still do even with the most high end systems when it comes to filling up the largest parks, but yet many people like myself choose to sacrifice performance for a larger park and I think we should have the choice to do so.
I hate how with modern games they like to "protect you from yourself" by taking away choices. Just give is us some advanced option hidden away somewhere and give us a warning or at very least do what cities skylines did and make it easy to unlock using a mod, cheat or something.

It's really strange and not look good to not have any dev answering this question... There's just 6 days left and still no answer... [uhh]

I really hope you get banned DaWu... You dont even understand the most simple facts and you are crying 5 pages now... so annoying.

I agree. Defintly not a dealbreaker for me either.

Sorry you feel that way DaWu, but I really don't see the problem unless you plan on filling up the entire map with coasters because as rides go they take the most room. However, possibly you could place some of your flat rides below the coasters like some of the old fashioned amusement parks did.

is it based on a real park or just a dream?

both

right now we have 500x500m parks, thats just not enough. If you have a transport ride from left to right, including stations and turn, it is maybe a maximum distance of 400m. That doesn't really seem the distance it is worth waiting for a train for. Also i would like to fit more than 10 coasters in my park without them all being next to eachother. It is really a must.

i dont see any reason to not give people what they want either. You can build smaller if you desire but you can't build bigger if you desire. Just because some people can't or don't want to doesnt mean it has to be that way for everyone. Making bigger maps would be the logical choice. I really like Frontier but the fact that they keep maps this small and not give us any information about it feels something Electronic Arts would do. Pardon my language.

I can't believe that this is the only size we are going to get, they should have given us a blank sandbox the size of WDW's Magic Kingdom. Or 4 times the size of RCT3, if the largest RCT3 map was 254 x 254, then give us 508 x 508. I saw some other coaster games and it looks like their buildable areas are larger, like Theme Park Studio. I don't know how much land they give you, but in this screenshot (link below) it looks like a lot. And they have lots of rides that PC is missing, like bumper cars, square drop towers, troika, go-karts. I feel like defecting to another game even if it's bad. Or just continuing to work in RCT3 and see how PC does over the next several months post release. I played Atari's RCTW and I think their build area is small, too and it has limited rides like PC and some different ones that were in RCT3 but not in PC. Like regular large ferris wheel, regular carousel, sky swing, and there's a troika, too. That game's release is a day before PC next week and it doesn't seem to have any dark rides or transport rides yet, but it does have a walk through haunted house ploppable ride like the earlier RCT games did. Also another beef with PC is that unlike RCT3, you can't yet make a completely blank park that has no background or landscaping outside the park. The closest would be that grassy sandbox, but you still see the hills outside the park boundary. At least the entrance gate is bare bones so that you can build your own entrance building unlike that other new RCT game where you are stuck with a huge brick building at the entrance and a half circle parking lot. We'll have to see how the final version of PC turns out next week and how they plan to update it in the future. I'm sure it will grow over time with new rides, scenery, maps, and other content. I think though that PC is the only coaster game where you can build caves and sculpture the terrain. That alone makes every other coaster game inferior including RCT3. In RCT3 tunnels look like just square holes in the ground, in PC they're like cave entrances. That's the one plus I like about PC.
