What is happening?

well...I was mostly kidding. I do think some things are needed for the basic game to feel "complete" (I don't mean various extra themes). I mean things like more transport rides like chairlifts and elevators, plus some of the basic coasters RCT had like bobsleds and Schwarzkopf coasters and things. Well...it's a much longer list than that but you get the idea.

You also don't know when mods will come or never come. You know just as much as any of us. Just FYI.
They talked about mods in the very beginning. The only biggest issue they mentioned is to make it user friendly and accessible.

I don't but I can make an educated guess. The game is still not even 18 months old so it's way too early for them to contemplate supporting that when the game is still relatively speaking in its infancy (although others think otherwise).

People complain about the previous DLC packs saying they wished for something with 'more content' such as a full-on expansion not taking into consideration something like that takes time. Now we hear nothing for a few months whilst it's clear they are working on the game it's a case of 'why aren't they telling us anything?' What's the rush to get told everything now? Comments such as 'We either need some announcement about a new DLC / update this week, in time for an Easter launch guys, or its game over' is hardly the way to go about it. Generally they like to announce content updates around the time of big events such as PAX (which is coming next month) so it's possible they're saving something for then. Oh yeah and this thread is developing into a 'what do I want added?' thread [ugh]

player numbers dropping daily = less future customers = less sales = bad business = give up on that game and move on to next = game over. Alternatively, stoke your player base with teasers, communications, little snippets of whats to come = hype train = more hits online = more players engaged = more future sales = good business. Its really not that hard.

I personally have always found these types of the games the kind you always go back to after a few months break. I am sure I am not the only one.

Yeah, I agree.. I have recently been getting back into creating new parks, and trying out ideas - but my powerful laptop has died [bored] PC doesn't look as good on this old bulky laptop thing.

But, it does work on it with low settings of course, which just goes to show the amount of work that Frontier have put into PC. Because this laptop really struggled to play it through the alpha versions.

Mmmmmm, I wonder what Frontier have in store for us next? #exciting

I always think I'll take a few months off after finishing a new area and ride but then a week goes by and another idea pops in my head and I can't stop myself from starting it. The obsession is real [wacky]

This has always been the case with RCT for me, it's been an obsession for just about 2 decades now.

Oh yes, much needed [up]

Along with Helter Skelter, Larger SIngle Tier Carousel, and a VIntage Paratrooper ride, that'll do me [big grin] ...they should be included for the base game mind.

As for the new DLC, a 'Victorian' one would be nice, or Spring related, Plants, Flowers, Shrubs etc, my other Fav would just be one that fills out existing themes, I can think of plenty of stuff the 'Western' theme is short of.
Planet Coaster definitely needs a Paratrooper flat ride and a bigger Carousel. Let's hope the next update or DLC they get added. Also a chairlift ride as well.

They should at least say something like “we have a special surprise for you on April 15” for example. Instead, they remain silent. The only thing we have to go on is the Steam DB updates which are showing new content is coming soon. Both game update and DLC.

Actually, I have only 2 games I play on a regular base.

1. Planet Coaster
2. F1 2017

All my other games are just for time wasting.

And I always get back to these games. There is always something I haven't build.

And if that special surprise turns out not to be ready to be announced/released on that date then what? A number of people will express their frustrations (as has happened previously when content/features weren't released as expected) and criticise them for not delivering on what they said. It's been stated already in this thread and many times before they only reveal something when in a position to do so. And the Steam updates don't reveal anything is coming soon, just that it's likely coming eventually.

Oh lets go back to the "But the game is 'missing' this item because of subjective reasons" that sounds like such a fun original argument to have, never been had before. Im sure we will get so far in the world with it.

If Frontier is working on something chances are its going to be meaty. Chances are its all new content, nothing left over unfinished from pre-release. Which would be great. I believe if their are items still in development I believe it wont be announced till after JPE is released. Frontier is still a small publisher compared to others. They have to be careful what they announce what and when. Especially since these games are very similar. Elite Dangerous being its own beast entirely. Releasing content there shouldnt hold much baring. However you release something mega awesome right around or right before the time JPE is to release, you have a small chance of steeling some of its thunder. Or worse yet JPE robbing some of PC potential new found thunder. I'll give them time. I still enjoy what I have.

This.

I really don't want more scenery. I'm struggling to get back into the game because of the daunting prospect of having to spend an age putting fancy buildings together with tiny bric-a-brac.

I want something fun. Gameplay. I want an expansion pack. New challenges and management stuff. I know that's all anyone ever kept saying to Frontier - "More management, rawr!" But the game is still lacking something. My hopes for the game didn't stop at 'The perfect sandbox game for Youtubers'

Amen!

I'm confused, I dont see why it would be any different either way. They dont have to give a specific day, they could just show some screenshot teasers and say something like, something is in the works without spoiling anything.

I am not worried about the future of PC and I really don´t think that Frontier has abandoned it... as always they will come round the corner one day and will deliver... than forum can go crazy and scream in frontier we trust [haha]
