Why am I being completely IGNORED?

Awesome, however it is so annoying. I think we can all agree we shouldn´t be left for use of these work arrounds and instead do something to make this intuitive and easy to do.... Also, this is exactly what makes the game unoptimized.

Z-fighting is just something that's part of rendering. Preventing it would probably make the game less optimized. Frontier could make more pieces, but it is not at all realistic to expect them to make pieces for all possible situations that can cause z-fighting (because there are infinite different ways people can place objects together).

Again you have no idea what optimization means

I also am a developer and I highly doubt you do based in your arguments about what optimization really is. No decent developer would say the things you say

I´m not going to discuss with you. I don´t even want to see (if that´s true) what you developed. You are one of those who says this game is very well optimized, that is enough for me and I don´t see a need to actually continue this topic. I already learnt my lesson that it´s better to ignore fanboys.

Man, I work in the game development, so I probably know better than you

If you work in the game industry, you might not be negative about potential future employers. This is not liked in the any business. Did Frontier refuse your application? How would you feel as a personal-manager of a company, if you heard that your perfect candidate for the next job complants always about another companies? How can he be sure, that this candidate don't talk bad about his own company later. And how would you feel, when a dev of Frontier continually talk negative about about your company or a game, let's call it for example "Guard Duty" that your company provides.

I'm sorry, but I'm just pointing out what is needed to be pointed out. Bad optimization, flaws in the tools and imo, paid dlc for the right time has not come yet. And yea, the critics is more visible than ever, because Frontier couldn't address a lot of important things, neither they communicate about it.

Working in game development doesn't automatically mean that you know better than others.

Planet Coaster is another type of game than, for example, Operation Black Mesa.

I am sorry to see that you continue to ignore what game optimisation really means.

Thanks for clearing that up, I thought shooter would be the same as PC...

I´ve been involved in more projects and playtesting throughout a lot of different genres, so I have an idea, no worries.

I´m just worried that you think PC is well optimized, while we still have unresponsive UI for instance. I don´t think you are quite right about that, but I will let you believe you are right. If you are happy with the game the way it is, then ok. But some people are not and have valid concerns and I can assure you these people will be louder and louder unless Frontier does something.

optimization - an act, process, or methodology of making something (such as a design, system, or decision) as fully perfect, functional, or effective as possible; specifically the mathematical procedures

I would say that PC sacrifices optimization for big numbers (or large crowds), which is both good and bad for different reasons. If we are talking specifically about frame rates, I would say PC is sufficiently optimized for high end computers, as my lower end CPU struggles to run the game. In fact, I think the game ran smoother a year ago than it does now. However, in a couple years, when CPUs are faster and cheaper, the game should hopefully be able to run even better. That's how RCT3 was at launch too, and it was a good thing because it meant the game was pushing the limits of our CPUs, but the game has more potential to grow in the long run. On the flip side though, things are not moving as quickly as they did in RCT3, and CPUs are not making huge leaps in performance right now. None of that is intended to say the game runs horribly, obviously people with higher end machines have no issues, and thats fine for a new game. At least the forums are not flooded with complaints of not being able to run the game. Aside from frame rates, the UI and QoL aspects of the game could be better, but that is a different aspect of programming.

Honestly, the louder some people get (not calling names here [uhh]) and the more threads are posted full of the same issues and complains, the less will anybody listen[yesnod]. Spamming the whole forum and each thread won't help. I understand that some people are not happy about the state of the game and get impatient. I really understand that. It is okay to complain and explain the problems ONCE or even twice, but not dozen or hundreds of times. [mouth shut]

This is by no way meant offensive but at some point I keep saying to myself: "Don't feed the trolls."[big grin] By this I don't want to say that everybody who complains (several times) is one, but when all threads are full of it, it just BLOCKS information and dev feedback.[sad]

Some people argue that in the early beginnings of the game we got more feedback. This might have several reasons, but one of them might be that the community was much nicer[yesnod]. It seems that we only got extreme point of views here. A lot of users don't post here anymore because of all this which is really sad.[sad] Devs shouldn't be afraid of complains because they help to make the game better. And from what I saw and understood Frontier doesn't fear (negative) feedback.[big grin] But I also remember the faces of Ed and Bo after the Frontier Expo which were full of shock after the ❤︎❤︎❤︎❤︎storm. they had some bad days there.[ugh] Keep the tone friendly and supportive (both sides of the discussion), use more emoticons, YEAH [big grin][big grin][big grin]

I actually see a lot of people with Ryzen or other Hi-end processor to still have the problem. About how it will run in the future, it is a good question, it all depends how the game was written.

I have only heard good things about the expo, didn't know of any negative feedback there. Many people have commented on how devoted the devs were to answering questions

Excellent post.
Loud spammy complaining is certainly not working.
And it is jamming up the threads blocking new information from flowing.
The community was indeed a lot nicer.
And Frontier communicated a lot more.
I think it turned nasty after the communication stopped not the other way around.
Everyone I chatted with at the expo said that they do read the forums and they accept the criticism.
Although that seems incongruent with the surprise you describe...
Bo and Ed were surprised by the feedback? In what medium? Can you provide a link?

Thanks

What kind of role are you in? Coding, Designing, animation, QA testing, Project management? Game forums do seem to attract the technical types.

It seems like you've missed my point. That's okay.

It is your fair opinion to think that I am not right about Planet Coaster being well optimised. I don't mind, everyone is free to express their opinions. I personally never experienced an unresponsive UI, for example. I really think you should contact Frontier Support if you have issues with the game, such as those leaks that you have mentioned a few days ago, but haven't provided any further information about since then.

You are right that people could get louder and louder, but that could mean they will be ignored more and more.
Above all, if you want to be heard, keep the feedback respectful and constructive, don't spam the same feedback countless times, and be respectful and friendly to other members of the community.
