Something that I just realized as to why you can't kill peeps/guests/visitors anymore in new theme park simulator games. I thought i'd share.
Back in the days of rct1 and rct2 every peep/guest/visitor was just a few pixels. There were no genders or ages. They all looked the same and walked the same, made the same sounds. Then after rct3 and now with rctw and most importantly: Planet Coaster, all guests/peeps/visitors have so much personality. They have different genders and most importantly: different ages and heigts. Since they start to look very realistic and have personalities and show emotion, it can probably never be ok anymore for any game if they could be easily 'killed'. Because the game would be rated 18+ if certain people who make it a habbit to complain about stuff would whine about it on twitter and what not.
But it kinda makes me wonder too why a game like The Sims DOES allow it. If it is not the goal in the sims to do so but simply a possibility, why isn't it allowed in theme park sims then? In the Sims you aren't meant to kill your sims (no matter what their age) but you still can. And this is fine. But in rct or in planet coaster you arent meant to kill your peeps/guests/visitors either, but i think it should still be possible that they'd 'die' and be gone from your park and your park would get bad ratings if they were to be on a ride that crashed. But straight up throwing them in a lake maybe isn't acceptable anymore these days (For some people that is, i personally dont mind because its a videogame and it can be fun)
So yeah I think this could be an interesting discussion.
