Planet Coaster Livestream: Q&A With Lead Artist (and rides expert) Sam Denney- Your Questions Needed

Just wanted to say that yesterdays stream looked great! One thing that caught my eye though; they showed an image of the people in a ride, when riding/moving. The people looked all exited and stuff, however their hair stayed right in place:) Didn't look like there was any wind going through it.. Would be really nice if that is fixed upon release.

Good point there, wzshop! It seems that the hair on some of the characters, looks unrealistic, and more like a toupee. Is it not possible to make the hair of the characters, look more like proper hair, that moves with the wind force when riding coasters or other fast moving flat rides.
Maybe something for John Laws, to bring up with the character designers?

The problem is once you have thousands of peeps running around are you even going to notice something like that. Considering the potential performance impact is it really worth it?

Also this is still pre Alpha lets not forget.

This may be a little off topic, but I was wondering about the train in the livestream:

In the picture below I pointed out where the train numbers are, in this case 8. The numbers will for sure change with multiple trains right? In the game I think it would be cool to be able to choose which numbers you want rather than them getting pre-assigned (ex. 1, 2, 3, 4, ...). (oh.. and I also posted this elsewhere but cabooses would be cool too haha [haha])

Is that a number 8 or just the "track" from the Planet Coaster logo? The devs have already discussed faux branding in game, and when you look at the train, there's Planet Coaster branding all over it.

Go the Connie Express! CHOO-CHOO!

It sure looks like the number 8 to me... If not I think that is a big coincidence with the number 8 on the front. I agree, that is cool they made the "8" out of track.

Hey, thanks for replying. First of all; i really admire all the work and details that they put in this pre-alpha stage, already. it all looks great and i am crazy about it! This does not mean that I can't place small remarks on what i see;) To be clear, i love the way it is and if this is not going to be implemented, that is fine! But a 'pre-alpha being' game, looking that great, deserves to have an eye for precision. Thats why i pointed it out:) cheers!

Yes, Id like to know if we can place flags and old style bulb lights on rides. Really on coasters. But since this is a ride live stream if you could just answer that yes we can put them on rides id take that as well. thanks

Do you mean light bulbs and flags up the lift hill?

Just watched it and its really amazing, especially in the current stadium, just one thing i noticed fast is that the physics looked pretty weird when a ride gets to a point when it swings back, like the 2. big ride they showed or the pirate ship, when its at its highest point it seems to freeze for a really small time and then swings back down, i think its going to be fixed, just thought it was a little bit funny, when sam said how realistic and good it looked when the ride swings back but it actually looked pretty weird and unrealistic, anyone noticed that? or is it just me...

Also one big thing i would wanna know, is how long they gonna develope the game, because he always talked about his list and i really hope they will not stop trying to finish as much things as possible and not having some exact deadlines like "other" specific games......... because i cant really believe that they can put in all those things everybody want till september and i kinda hope they will take their time and maybe release it early 2017, also if it would hurt to know to wait that loong!
Anyone knows something about that? [hehe]

The game is due to be released in the fourth quarter of this year (not September). That means anywhere from October 1 to December 31.

Did anybody noticed that the peeps are not synhronic to each other? especially on the coasters everybody does what they want, but in real all people are like synchronic excited on each element, also they will sound synchronic, in the livestream some are exciting and some others one second after and some not.. in real life u will see when there is a loop or a drop on the reaction on the people... [rolleyes]

on the drop tower the hair of some people blowed up with the wind as it dropped... maybe they gonna work on some more, but the animation itself really is much to random, also when they are walking they look really weird and silly.. they always make fast movement and show on something, they should "talk" more wih each other and be a little more calm and stuff...

I think a little bit of freezing is normal, here is a video of a real one, especially the higher up it gets:

The ride movements looked very realistic and authentic to me.

Sadly I won't be able to watch the live stream today , but I do have a question on flat rides...

"Would you guys consider suggestion on ride types in the future? If yes, I got one "Hay Bayler","

I was part of kickstarter that I supported to get this ride in that game, would love to see it here too, reason is it's a unique ride (as you can see by the vid) that would spine simply, but ride a rail up and down while the cars would speed up it would tilt outwards from the bottom up. Really fun ride in the day, loved it personally and it dry'd one off really well after the log fumes :)

Anyways that's it, look forward to the vid tonight when I get home! Off to the doc! Later all!

Is there a stream tonight? I'm confused. I thought it would be weekly.

There is no live stream tonight, this was mentioned last week, due to the Press Event. There will probably be something next week before the Early Release explaining everything, as well as some news by Chris, Angelis & Kerrash, with things they are not allowed to tell us until 21st..
