Shame on you fdev

Hamburgers must be cheaper here in the land of cowboys, LOL. On a serious note, I had a bad habit of falling in love with a ship, buying paint for it, then falling out of love with that ship to never fly it again... Oh well..

These days I no longer give Frontier any money due to the state of the game on PS4. That's a lot of extra grass-fed organic hamburgers on my dinner plate!

😁🐄🍔

I'm just north of you in the less-crazy land of eternal snow (even though we had almost no snow at all this winter), but there's a lot of hi-quality burger places in my town (plus fries and gravy and a drink).

And talk about wasted paint; I look at the combination of my year in a Cobra and a bunch of expendable income at the time, and I wish I would have saved some of those for other ships. Medusa is cool, national flag is cool, OG wireframe is cool, Onionhead is cool, and none get any air time because I never fly the C3 these days.

I was quite disappointed to notice that one of the parts from the Cutter ship kit is covering the nameplate. And both are payed trinkets...

No, I basically said that white knights are one reason we have sloppy ship kits. You got jumpy.

White knights is not a bad word, it is a category of likely minded people in these forums to me.

I get called a white knight a lot, usually because I'm not being sufficiently salty to satisfy someone else's preconceptions about some really trivial video game thing. Yet whenever it comes up I say I have never and probably will never buy any cosmetics for any game as its not my thing. So I can't really see FDEV factoring my preferences into their design decisions.

Don't knock the prongs!

I actually like the Viper kit.
It's not superb (like the Vulture kit) but I like the way it allows you to change the look of the ship fairly convincingly.
The only parts I really dislike are the silly "prongs" for the nose.

Shame, as I would have loved to see your Holome with that hat and mustache!

you people are hopeless. You are one of the reasons this game is half baked. Talking about how I write my thread instead of acknowledging the fact that the community has to make the devs aware of the issues in order to get better content.

What you have achieved by clubbing me today is simply making me regret to try and change things for the better. I hope you are happy, you have one less "atrocious communicator" around.

Once again, we didn't club you or your opinion. Some of us critisized the manner of your criticism.

But sure, if its my fault that the ship kits are not so good, it must mean i have real influence over FD!!!!

Yes!!!

FD, new SRVs! When? I demand them!

PS: SRV body kits, when?!

Another option is submitting a support ticket. Before we could preview paint and ship kits on the livery screen, I bought a paint job for my Vulture that looks pretty amazing on the Frontier Store. Once I saw it on my actual ship in normal lighting, I absolutely hated it! I contacted support, and they refunded me my Frontier Points so I could use them elsewhere.

This is the most constructive way to deal with the issue. Issues with ship kits are not new, and I believe several issues in the past have already been fixed due to bug reports.

Trying to convince people to stop paying frontier is a futile effort, especially if most players are not even on this forum. If you want the problem solved: submit a bug report so devs are aware, and everyone can enjoy a better ship kit.

But that will probably only work if the OP does not use the same tone in the ticket as in the opening post.

I sincerely hope the devs don't read the forums. I'd like the information to be filtered to them in a more constructive way than via forum tantrums.

In terms of practicality the forums suck for that but all things considered, the forums are really calm compared to most mainstream forums and social media such as Youtube, Facebook, Reddit and 4Chan.

So if something is not worded as you wish, even if it is a good point, you dismiss it entirely. Even if you understood what I meant. That's weird.

Even though I think you are right in your opinion, you really need to change your attitude if you want people to take you seriously, that's not a complain from my part, that's reality.

Your communication and wording are fine. Just try to ignore the white knights, i suspect many of them dont even play the game that much. If anyone wants beautiful wording and politeness, they should go to hello kitty forums.

This is not even about being polite, this is about being persuasive.

I never really got why the white knights hate the term..

Perhaps different people have their own interpretations but the term White Knight has (for me) historically referred to those who defend the indefensible. The parents that describe their spiteful child as a 'promising footballer', the bloke with the frothing & snapping pug dog who say 'she's only like that with strangers'.

It is a disparaging term, not intended to be something to be proud of (as a title like 'geek' or 'nerd' has become).

I think the OP probably has a point about general quality & workmanship, but we don't know how difficult it is to work around the existing assets in the game. I remember it was a long time before the Conda got any paintjobs because of the damage model, and any damaged panel would revert to the standard black/dark grey for a long time. It was eventually fixed though, as hopefully will the Python Wireframe paint and the ship kit(s) the OP is frustrated by.

I think all the ship kits are terrible. Therefore I didn't buy any. I have a good number of regular paint jobs, including a number of the limited edition ones. Perhaps FDev have access to sales stats that allow them to draw conclusions?

  • what saddens me is that the shipkits were planned to be tied to engineering, so any change to the ship's configuration would be visible ingame. This was removed and turned into a cash cow.
  • I think some of the so called white knights, the ones who irrationally climb in the contrarian role are not even real people, either sock puppets or sophisticated bots
  • Some decals are also quite shoddy....stopped buying all that crap because it is never sure wether it is okayish or just plain crappy work.

mind you under EU law any online purchase can be returned and refunded within 2 weeks, so until Brexit i'd say just refund if it is excremental quality

If a person buys something and doesn't like it, that person has the right to offer a review of said product. That person isn't required to just "vote with the wallet". Otherwise what's the point of a forum?
