It's funny the reputation OA has for starting out with just Elite. Go to his videos page and sort in reverse order: multiple Star Citizen vids in his first 10 uploads :D

His reputation was built with ED though. When i became aware of him his content was almost exclusively ED related.

I presume he tailed off the SC videos when there simply wasn't enough content to make videos about.

I play quite a bit of SC and have been an Imperator subbie for most of the time I've backed the project. I was a concierge backer for the first couple of years, cashed in my pledge during 2017 and re-backed last year to slightly less than concierge...

But since Sovapid and myself seem to be the resident ghosts in the machine on here...You're talking complete shyte, go back to posting on Spectrum...you might get some biters on there ;)

I’m not talking shyte, the truth is simple: if you are able to get over the past drama, SC is coming along significantly better than most people say it.

I’ve posted here numerous times, talked through several examples and it’s always the same result.

So BLUF: 2019, SC will be the space game. It’s not hype, drama, etc. it’s simple truth.

I’m not concierge, not even close! ObsidianAnt provides decent youtube entertainment. How FTR, is crap, IMO. To much drama. And with Obsidian, he was an original Elite guy. He bases a lot of his information on his playing here.

And when did CI±G🇵🇦 say we could even begin to expect SQ42 (which would be out before SC) again?

The published roadmaps show CIG are practically a quarter behind schedule for Sq42:

This public schedule began 5 months ago. Now that's project management.

The only people thinking Sq42 is still arriving in 2020 clearly don't understand game development.

Ahhh - but remember at various points already we've had "I've played every SQ42 mission", "the core of the game is done at this point", "we have the entire first chapter playable and ready to show to backers now, but we've decided to delay a couple of weeks as Genuine Roberts wasn't perfectly happy with one or two animations", "we have fantastic completed segments the crew can't wait to show off, but can't because spoilers" and a whole bucket of other such crackers :D

Too bad the comparison comes out so horribly much in Elite's favour given CIG's history of accurately predicting or even describing… well… anything really. As for what Elite has for 2019, how about the one thing CIG is less and less likely to ever have: a game.

If you live in the past, you are correct. However, with this topic, and what CIG is doing, I disagree. But, in 1 Year we will know for sure.

While these are fantastic counter-points, the scenario that I've seen most supported (i.e. the most upvoted guesstimates) is that Sq42 was rebooted in or around 2016 - as int the the one in development now is a different one to the previous, because of scope changes resulting from lots-of-cash-received-from-backers.

Sq42 has not taken a long time to create, because technically this game only started development a couple of years ago. 🤯

Now, if I remember correctly both Star Citizen & Squadron 42 changed engines from CryEngine to Lumberyard during 2016 too, but I'm neither a coder nor a lawyer 🤷‍♂️

What this all means in the grand scheme of things I do not know.

But I do like annoying the shills non-the-less ;)

So you don't believe CIG when they're saying that your speculations are wrong and based on massively outdated information that they've since revised numerous times?

Oh crikey, is this a "Star Citizen will be great in [CurrentYear+1]" scenario?

Because as a day1 backer seven years of hearing "next year will be our year" sounds remarkably like Liverpool FC* and their 29 years of repeated failures 😢

*Oddly, Liverpool stand a fantastic chance of winning the Premiership (ala top tier of English football) this season. Let's hope CIG don't have to wait another 22 years

Does a BAFTA finalist count as a reserve for the cup final? Is Luke Skywalker a good goalie?

Alpha Patch 3.5.0q has been released to PTU, and is now available to test! Patch should now show: PTU-1376751.

It is strongly recommended that players delete their USER folder for the Public client after patching, particularly if you start encountering any odd character graphical issues or crash on loading. The USER folder can be found (in default installations) at C:\Program Files\Roberts Space Industries\StarCitizenPTU\LIVE.

Please monitor ptu test chat in spectrum for updates and testing instructions.
