Just as the title suggests, once Thargoids control systems they should pop up all over in real space, not just signal sources or hyperdictions.
Right, there's no integration of the Thargoids into what's going on in the system. Factions will go on giving missions as if the Thargoids aren't even there, and don't mention them.
There are people who don't play Tharogids, at the moment engaging a Thargoid is a choice, having them show up outside stations suddenly to attack players means forcing unwilling players into the Thargoid war, where they don't want to be.

+1
I've suggested before that all USSs and scenarios should have a chance (based on how big the Thargoid presence is) to have a Thargoid interrupt event.
Which is basically a Cyclops turning up and ruining it.
That also includes nav beacons, CZs, Res sites, surface ports and settlements, everything.

They don't need to attack the Star Port
Just show up spook the NPCs and leave, maybe use the shut down field and be menacing, but at least something to show the "overrun" of the system
After all, if you want to avoid the Thargoid war, surely you would want to avoid the systems they have over run
My suggestion wasn't that Thargoids randomly attack players... if you read what you quoted, I suggested that the system factions have missions that acknowledge there is a gigantic incursion going on.
For new players, and those wishing to avoid Thargoids, simply stick the Thargoid incursion state on the map as a filter, and as a warning when jumping (like anarchy, but maybe even more "in your face").
Then CMDRs can find, or ignore those systems as they please.
I rely almost entirely on Intel to find the Thargoids. I don't want to take away the eagle eye network, so potential threats can still be discovered, but once it's confirmed it should be a map filter. To be honest I have no idea where Thargoids are to be found, I just point my ship and go. The warning when jumping would be useful, I might still go through the system and trust to luck and skill if I didn't have lot of explo data, but beginners would find it useful.
