Apart from the Military and organised crime I don't think we're talking about the same "abuse" are we? And even then not sure murder has occured in the Military the person got away with it (with people knowing). So the Pilots fed is a criminal organisation?

Don't starting splitting "well akshully" hairs about the definition of abuse. You asked for examples of organizations that have historically tolerated such within their ranks, and I provided them.

And as far as the lore goes, the PF is the closest thing to law and order that many systems get- which means that they are the law in those cases, for better or worse. Whether this means that a member is a lawman or criminal simply depends on one's viewpoint and personal interests.

No.

If you get "THAT dark" over a video game perhaps you should step back and reevaluate if this is a healthy hobby for you.

good book, try it.

No I am just that dark about lot's things not just computer games.....main reason why I play solo (not just in Elite). LOT's of anger at all sorts of things....keep it locked up tight. But some of my assumptions about the game are wrong so on the wider subject of PvP I'll just keep out of it......:)

seal clubbers are still scum though.

Well seeing as the thread is about full on destruction I didn't think I needed to split hairs.

So PF is like the Wild West then? with some "sherriffs" being not exactly stellar?

What about your threatening to verbally abuse me? That's pretty scummy.

sorry for the misunderstanding I never meant that at all. I just said I can't express my opinions about seal clubbers within the rules of this forum. I think I understand your posts a bit more now!!

There's 2 aspects to this thread for me, the OP and the little (regrettable) pop at wolves in sheep's clothing! Seems the two have been mixed into one (but not by me).

truce?

Nah. You're acting like a bully, got called out on it, and now you're walking it back.

I'd recommend you just drop the conversation right here.

In all honesty I can't be bothered although it may prove cathartic to vent. Not sure if what I'd say would get me arrested LOL I am THAT dark. eg have you read "The Dark" by James Herbert?
If Frontier had a "say what you really mean with no holding back!" here on the forum day I'm sure you would be more than willing to drop the pretense and go full on hate speech on us. I'm equally sure that a large number of supposed space pacifists on this forum would be eager to jump right in with the crazy, real life death threats and wishes talk right alongside you. I genuinely wish that Fdev DID implement something along those lines, then we could really get down to the nitty gritty of unmasking the true malevolence present here.

The funny part? Even in the face of your "atomic word bomb" which you mentioned, we would collectively shrug, joke it off and then continue responding with humor, dignity, logic and reason just like we always do.

So your self-confinement to solo isn't the sniveling reaction to the idea of adversity in a video game at all, but rather a rare species of self-restraint?

The "nature of the game" is currently "lord of the flies"....that IMO is nothing for FD to be proud of IMO. I just find the choatic lack of structure mind boggling. Also visiting some the websites of these types with all the rules of no abuse etc...just laughable. Those types deserve to be ridiculed and PvPers who play by reasonable rules of behaviour should see my views as no threat.

If by "Lord of the Flies" you meant an in-game environment where chaos reigns - well, some people want to play in that type of environment.
I think the dystopian train-wreck that is the Elite Dangerous universe is intentional.

I want to focus on this phrase of yours:

"….and PvPers who play by reasonable rules of behaviour should see my views as no threat"

That statement sounds good, but the Krash is in the details.
What I mean is that the term reasonable means entirely different things to different people.
I found the availability of group play and solo play, and the additional risk of open play to be very reasonable.

What I don't find reasonable, and something you didn't answer from the previous post of mine, is how are people to know that the opposing pilot meets all of your as yet to be defined qualifications that make up this mythical 'fair fight'? You'd do well to pay attention to that request. Do you want a little alert to pop up in game? "Greetings commander, your current target is soft and unskilled, do you wish to continue?" You criticize the current set up quite a bit (which is fine) but what are the alternatives? Terms like "let's be reasonable" hides the complexity and details of what a fair system would look like.

Understand that there are thousands of games available where a player can get an even match in a tightly controlled environment.
If it bothers you so much, why aren't you in one of those titles?

Amen, brother. The idiots you describe above wouldn't know what to do.

If you are a seal clubber, then I couldn't give the proverbial rats hairy crack what you think.

all I know is give it back and the bad'uns don't like it and get all upset. ;)

Guessed you'd do that, fair enough. Not sure how I'm acting like a bully though.

You're calling seal clubbers scum and comparing them to dirt you wipe off your boot while at the same time threatening some kind of epic screed at me for being ultimately OK with seal clubbing as an in-game activity.

Is seal clubbing boring? Yup.
Not challenging? Yup.
Bit distasteful? Sure, as far as sportsmanship goes.

Indicative of a person that doesn't deserve basic dignity? Hell no forever.

Back to circle jerking I see ;)

Oh well I'm off, just remember lads, can't take it don't dish it out. on that note I'll leave this to the inevitable echo chamber. ;)

Don't forget my email or Discord account! I'd be interested to hear what you have to say.

I can't understand the mentality of someone who asks support to revert a loss in a game.

If I asked support of any the MMOs I play, to change my W/L in the PvP modes, I'd be laughed at.

Suck it up, or play in Solo. I'm getting sick of these holier-than-thou PGs who demand special treatment.

It isn't "special treatment" as you unrealistically claim.
The fundamental point is that players (not player in-game characters) that joined a no-PvP group with the intent to not abuse by the agreement that was implicit in flying within that group. That is tantamount to a player cheating (separate and distinct from anything an in game character might pursue in 5C gameplay).
It isn't rocket science or difficult to understand this fundamental point. Nor can you disagree with the point about player cheating.
The end result is that the players who lose out as a direct result of other players cheating have their losses restored to the status quo.
The travesty here is that no punishment is given to the cheat. They only get ejected from the group in which they cheated, but no actual punishment is given.
Pretty sad, really, but there we are.

Yours Aye
