Here are some solutions:Interesting that some here think Open means you must engage in PvP. What about people who want to meet other players for PvE? Why is Open the PvP mode when that's really the only place you can engage in multiplayer without actually knowing any groups? I get it has PvP and you could be killed by someone else, but to say someone should want PvP because they are in Open, that's just short sighted and low bar, low rent and cheap shoes, with sweaty feat and bad haircut.
Personally I didn't say must. I said it is not representative of the open experience. And I stand by that. In these starter systems is your only chance at basically non engineered pvp, which is the fairest form of pvp. Everyone had the ability to create a private group to play with friends.Interesting that some here think Open means you must engage in PvP. What about people who want to meet other players for PvE? Afaik you don't get kicked out. You get to stay, but once you leave you're not allowed back in.Is it true that you can't rank up even one level on any of the three elite tracks without getting kicked out of the starter district?
Here are some solutions:
#1: If you want to meet people, fly around in your beginner Sidewinder until you make friends.
Cost: Negligible
#2: Numerous large PvE groups are available. You can meet people in those groups, become friends, and form smaller and more secure private groups if you so desire.
#3: I've received a dozen offers of help from friendly people on this forum. They'd likely help you as well.
Actual solutions to your question aside, I think the better question would be: Maybe this is the wrong title for you?
That suggestion sounds rude, but it isn't meant to be offensive.
Consider this: What you're doing with this post is setting up a nice scenario (no sarcasm, it really is nice) that the game doesn't meet and asking that it be changed to fit that play style. The thing is, a person could do that with any game on the market. I could go to Battlefield 5 and say the exact same thing - or I could run over to a huge PvE title and say, "How come this game doesn't support a Player vs. Player combat and the ability to take someone hostage, or kill them and take their stuff?"
So if this gets changed into a PvE title where are the PvP players supposed to go?
My guess is they'd find another great game - it would get popular - and then the forums would be flooded with people asked that it be made into a PvE title, because for some reason, unlike the PvP crowd, the PvE crowd has some moral obligation to invade every PvP title on the market and turn it into a carebear carnival - instead of reading the box and coming to the conclusion that this title isn't for you.
There is nothing wrong with coming to the conclusion that a game doesn't meet your social interaction criteria and moving on.
In the current case, you might as well restrict them to solo or pg.
From the mouth of noobs?
