my cutter has 2 condas for breakfast. - its not about weapons and firepower, u need to be able to take damage aswell because no matter how good a pilot you are, your going to get shot!

Necro means to comment on an old thread that's considered to be dead. In this case, you responded to a thread that hasn't been active since Feb. :)
Whilst it's not against the rules to do so, it's frowned upon by many forum users (not just here). Some forum's even have a rule against it.

I was teasing.
The funny thing is I seem to have raised this forum from the dead, like the high level cleric spell, only I used untimely and misguided remarks instead of divine power....

Proper outfitting is the best way to not die.

I slapped some frag cannons on my exploration Krait Phantom yesterday, just to mess around. Then went to a low CZ dived right in. Barely lost a ring of shields (380hp) and won the CZ.
(I wanted to try scanning all the wakes).

Then went and attacked a system security convoy. That's two high rank Anaconda's and a T9 with SLFs.

I didn't managed to kill anything, but I took one of the Anacondas shields and hull down quite far, and bugged out (low wake) without losing shields.

I suppose being able to boost to 560~ helps. Lol

Yep running away is usually the best option!

In other words you had an Anaconda with barely any engineered Hull Reinforcement Packages, a stock internal armour, too, perhaps, and it surprised you she was weak?

The ship is a monster when fitted right. But it takes time to get her to this stage. The same is true of the Python, which is very weak until you engineer her into a warship with mighty armour.

2 weeks grinding for credits isn't going to give you any meaningful combat experience.
Get a smaller ship and learn the game properly is your best option.
A stack of credits is not the purpose of elite.

Lots of us used to take out NPC Anacondas with Vultures.. not that hard. Huge blind spot to the rear. Once you got in close there wasn't much they could do. It could take some damage and keep rolling. And it could dish it out. There were several threads on how it made the game too easy. Dismissing the Vulture as a 'runt' is a huge mistake, ESPECIALLY now with engineers to cover it's one downside ( power ). Still, a ten second kill on an Annie by a Vulture is pretty good.

But, to the OP's point, unless we know the loadout, we won't know squat to help him out. The Vulture could have targeted his PP ( known Annie soft spot ). Was your PP armored/hardened ? Were your shield resists modified, or just HD ? Your armor and armor mods ? What kind ? Point defenses ? Lots of questions..

What was the vulture using ? Some weapons bypass shields ( Super-penetrator or Phasing ).. some drop shields in a heartbeat ( Reverb )..

Necro is is another word that means death, it is from greek, and often used as a prefix (think necromancer for example)...

In this instance it is refering to a dead thread, that someone started posting in...

[EDIT]
missed that there was an entire new page of replies and that this had already been answered
As we're defining forum protocols for the uninitiated, posting answers you didn't see posted while you were typing your own item is referred to as being "ninja'd".

Large ships own every NPC they encounter once they're engineered, even against multiple enemies.

Large ships can get in trouble in PvP unless you know what you're doing.

Get your engineering done and read the forum and Google for tactics/builds. Two weeks and an Anaconda is a bad combo for a new player.

I bought one too soon, luckily I sold it and went back to my Python. When I bought my Corvette, it spent weeks in a hangar with short forays for engineering. 3/4 of a billion credits later, it was fit to go into the Black. Also have more than a few re-buys in you coffer.

Sometimes necro threads come back to life for a bit. There was one that had been resurrected several times over the years (closed recently). As long as the topic remains polite and constructive, chances are the thread will stay open. :)
