Galnet : Ship stolen from shipyard

Ship has been found.Haven't read the article yet,but it's why i searched for galnet and landed up here.Something's afoot. Not sure if spaceleg attatched atm, tho. :giggle:

And how many explorers died on the Gnosis believing that rule?
Still chuckling at that marvellous trolling by FD.

Don't get me started...

Didn't have any problem with the fighting, per-se.
I'd spent almost a billion credits on extra modules/weapons/armor (plus postage & packing) for my exploration Annie so I was ready to go.
I was just expecting to do the fighting somewhere new, and not somewhere that I could just go any time I wanted.
Stuck around to help repel the 'goids, accrued a heap of fines and didn't get exploded.
Once I started to notice players backstabbing those defending the Gnosis, I pulled the ripcord.

Hardest part was schlepping back to the nearest Asteroid-base with my poor ol' Annie loaded down with somehing like 500t of combat junk. :(

GalNet articles never turn into anything. If they actually start leading to in-game content (in the future) a good number of players would never know because they've givin up on GalNet as a meaningful aspect of the game.
So people complained about puting crucial info in to game, just to have a 9 month later, to complaine about puting cruicial info on to forum ( recent vote in II ).
There is no winning for FDevs and CM's is there?

That Gnosis thread is an awesome read.

Just had a quick flick through that, for old-times' sake.

I can't help noticing that the resident forum "white knights" were engaging in damage-control by pointing out how the Gnosis revealed new gameplay in the form of Thargoid station attacks.

So, how'd that turn out?

I'm guessing FDev could never get it to work properly and just swept it under the rug.

That rug's getting awfully lumpy these days.

Interceptors against explorers. That must have been a fun scene.

Is there a mega-thread I can read? I was still pretty new in early September, probably just getting into my first non-sidewinder.
In YouTube you can find plenty of videos of full outfitted combat ships destroyed even before leaving the station. Brutal to say, but that was a realistic scenario. Things should've gone that way. Thousands of ships blocked in the Gnosis waiting for the cavalry to arrive from the Bubble or even "better" Gnosis destroyed with thousands of ships inside... that how real life would have been actually :(

Accoridng to galnet, the ship was stolen by a bloke called Gan - I thought he was dead.

latest

Perhaps he was trying to escape from some falling polystyrene blocks in the federation computer control installation on Earth.

Oh no - you mean we've been playing Blake's 7 all these years? and I still haven't unlocked the liberator!

Speaking of the Gnosis event, I thought it was awesome. Galnet menat something, a surprise was had, they did something unique to the entire game (real time attack on megaship/station)

Plus, they had literally been telling explorers in forum threads, and live streams that they might want to be armed when exploring, no one listened though.

Please, Great Lords of Galnet, let this go somewhere

Ship Thief’s Personal Log Discovered
17 MAY 3305

A journal maintained by Gan Romero, the technician responsible for stealing a docked vessel from a starport hangar, has been discovered.

Security Chief Misaki Sanders gave this statement from Fort Dixon:

“We have thoroughly investigated Romero’s background to establish a motive for the theft and how it was accomplished. Our only lead is a series of encrypted voice logs that he deleted shortly before the hijack.”

“Our analysts have recovered a few fragments of these recordings, which appear to have been part of a dream journal. In them, Romero makes repeated mention of seeing ‘an area of space, not black but radiant…glowing like heaven,’ and being called by ‘voices that didn’t come from anything with a body’.”

“Medical experts have proposed that Romero’s recordings, along with his recent distracted behaviour, may be symptoms of an undiagnosed dissociative disorder. If true, Romero was likely acting upon dream delusions when he stole the ship. At present, our investigation has not yielded anything more substantial.”

Guess my hope is that this leads to some puzzle based chase narrative for Interstellar Initiative #2, maybe to find a new type of NSP with new content? I guess we'll see.

It's a bit unusual that there's multiple articles on a single topic in a row, so it's normal to raise a few eyebrows.

The huge, huge problem is however :
99% of past GALnet articles have been background fluff or "fake news". The Galaxy's own Rainbow press.

How would one make out the difference between the alpha rare event that a GALnet article reflects something in-game and the usual fluff? It's impossible.

So think twice before chasing "an area of space, not black but radiant…glowing like heaven".

This all reminds me of that Jasmina Haysley or what was the lady's name. She also saw something. I took a break in that time but we never found anything "nice" enough as she described. Some "nice" place like ‘an area of space, not black but radiant…glowing like heaven,’ with voices.

Anyway that also reminds me about...when I was much younger we ate these shrooms in forest...I would say I heard voices too but that was just a begining of a journey so it might be just that I guess. Shrooms.

Also I belive that we never found that experimental Meta Drive I remeber some mentions about it. But that could have been shrooms too.
