I'm commander Gan, and I'm a pirate. I nick stuff all the time- whats the beef?
Please, Great Lords of Galnet, let this go somewhere
Ship Thief’s Personal Log Discovered
17 MAY 3305
A journal maintained by Gan Romero, the technician responsible for stealing a docked vessel from a starport hangar, has been discovered.
Security Chief Misaki Sanders gave this statement from Fort Dixon:
“We have thoroughly investigated Romero’s background to establish a motive for the theft and how it was accomplished. Our only lead is a series of encrypted voice logs that he deleted shortly before the hijack.”
“Our analysts have recovered a few fragments of these recordings, which appear to have been part of a dream journal. In them, Romero makes repeated mention of seeing ‘an area of space, not black but radiant…glowing like heaven,’ and being called by ‘voices that didn’t come from anything with a body’.”
“Medical experts have proposed that Romero’s recordings, along with his recent distracted behaviour, may be symptoms of an undiagnosed dissociative disorder. If true, Romero was likely acting upon dream delusions when he stole the ship. At present, our investigation has not yielded anything more substantial.”

Guess my hope is that this leads to some puzzle based chase narrative for Interstellar Initiative #2, maybe to find a new type of NSP with new content? I guess we'll see.
Ah, found the codex entry - not under Halsey, under Guardians:Hmm, as predicted - connected to Halsey's visions of the Guardians... though I thought it was explicit in the codex, but last time I looked I didn't see it explicitly mentioned (and it does clash with the actual way the Guardians were found...)
Ah, found the codex entry - not under Halsey, under Guardians:
‘an area of space, not black but radiant…glowing like heaven,’
That crossed my mind.Glowing like the Galactic Core?
It's a bit unusual that there's multiple articles on a single topic in a row, so it's normal to raise a few eyebrows.
The huge, huge problem is however :
99% of past GALnet articles have been background fluff or "fake news". The Galaxy's own Rainbow press.
How would one make out the difference between the alpha rare event that a GALnet article reflects something in-game and the usual fluff? It's impossible.
So think twice before chasing "an area of space, not black but radiant…glowing like heaven".
Its clear. We still have to find something we were supposed to find first. As usually no plan survives. There were some clues like Jasmina and this thief guy. There is something near galactic center, colonia direction, its full of stars... Frontier supposed that all the ppl will go towards Sagitarius and will find something. But nobody discovered it yet.
Whos responsibility it was to put such asset into game and forgot to do that is yet to be found.
Don't forget, they encouraged us to search planets using mark 1 eyeball for MONTHS without there being anything to find.Well, it's only like what?.... 50 Billion Systems there? lol
I mean - if anything was supposed to be a clue, you'd find at least some breadcrumbs in Vega. Something. Anything.
Alas.... there aren't any. Nothing. GALnet business as usual.
And with absolutely no clues or breadcrumbs where to take it from there... we're talking literally all ~400 Billion Systems that qualify.
If anyone at FDev wanted us to find anything... they made very sure noone will ever find it.
No clues, no discovery. Easy as that in a 80000LY x 80000LY x 6000LY playground.
And that means : (intentional or unintentional) it's most likely nothing. Fake news. Fluff. Background noise.
PS.
One should remember though : FDev throughout Horizons assumed it would be perfectly normal and totally practical to ask Players to visually search the surfaces of Planets or Moons of entire Systems lol
It's not entirely out of the question with that background.
But basically : we'd have to find out first if it's the usual GALnet cosmic noise or something Players should invest time into.
Without that key info, one would be crazy to chase ghosts across the entire Galaxy.
I'm roughly headed into the general area but sure as hell won't search for "mystery fluff text that lacks any usable details". No thanks, done that in the past, brings back bad memories.
“Although Romero’s job gave him access to landing pads, it does not explain his ability to bypass ship security protocols or launch without authorisation. We have yet to determine his motive or destination.”
Better check the Docking computer and SC assist software for Guardian AI backdoors... I don't even trust my COVAS any more. The Guardian constructs are coming! Time to replace all your ship modules with analog tech.
