Have you seen the new leaked Thargoid model?

Oh, for anyone who might not have happened to glimpse this earlier concept art already from a peek of their offices...

From that at least they look kind of like a cross between ants and prawns to me.

Class. Needs to be done with other first person gameplay elements alongside the FPS. And with stage one atmospheres and walking around ships. Please and thank you.

That will bring me back in black

Well no point in cheating a game. Like life if you mess it up and don't do it right you have to do it again right from the begining. I'm the 5th time through it. ;) see you in the black or the other black

A couple of things.
1) The face is extremely reminiscent of the Chigg helmet from Space Above and Beyond.
2) The textures do not appear to be that consistent with probes, sensors, scavengers, flowers or scouts. Could this be a Blender mashup of the model?
a) The current sensor and probe animated textures are great, providing illusory depth and activity - I hope they are incorporated in the final model.
3) The body model lacks the detailing found in probes, sensors, and scavengers.
a) The unusual protuberances on those existing assets give the sense that there is organic functionality to the entire system rather than a smooth encasement.
b) A close up look at ants or wasps reveals hair, articulated antennae, eyes, spiracles, detailed articulation points, etc. These are lacking in the leaked model.
4) Traits and functionality questions -
Why grasping apendages on legs used for locomotion?
Do they live in trees? Their hive ship has floors. Weird. Did not see a bunch of handholds in the mothership tunnels.
I get the small retracted appendages with grasping hands - there are plenty of crustaceans, insects, arachnids, etc. that have equivalents.
Why so tall (long legs relative to torso dimension)? Do they feed on things significantly above the ground level?
So many articulations in the limbs, do they engage in high-speed locomotion through tunnels of a variety of dimensions?
They are definitely not swimmers!
In a cold ammonia-rich environment, they might absorb nutrition directly from their environment, so surface area increasing adaptations might be prevalent - but they are absent on the model. The mouth detail is very limited, do they even need to eat? There are no feeding assist limbs like what you would see with any terrestrial organism with an exoskeleton.

If this is legit, it's probably an early concept piece.

In regards to #4, let’s not forget that they are a space faring civilization. The height could be due to low gravity and the grasping ends of the legs could aid in navigating ships in zero g.

I personally think it would be super cool if the thargoids were weak outside of the ship. Therefore humans would be better in a “man to man” fight, whereas the thargoids are clearly better in ship to ship. It could also be a neat way to explain why they have not attacked planets or taken control of stations.

Imagine how many boots and pants (trousers) they will be able to sell in the shop for these !

"Outfit your own pet Thargoid" :D

Going to be a bit bummed if there aren't atmospheric landings at the same time as legs. We have fog on planets already - add the space-clouds as clouds and turbulence from neutron stars (tuned down, obviously) and they have half the assets already. I'd love to see gas planets at the very, very least.

You must have the eyes of a hawk in the prime of his life :).

I think the form looks great, agree with other comments about the face being a bit bland but I'd imagine this is a ways from a final product. Would like it to look a bit more chitinous, they are supposed to be insectoid right?
