NPC SRV coming with 4.0?

Or perhaps it includes more gameplay on the planetary surface types we already have - with landable "atmospheric" planet types still reserved for a future (beyond 2020) expansion. Many people say that there's no point having more landable planet types until there's more to do on them. Personally I don't entirely agree with this viewpoint but nevertheless I can see how that might make sense from Frontier's point of view.
Yup. Could be. I have been asking for more gameplay on planetary surfaces for some time. At the moment, there is little need to go to them apart from materials.

What ever happens, its looking interesting.

Don't want to crush your dreams, but I'd rather think Ice Cream Van AI for planet zoo 😅 (which I absolutely wait for, looks beautiful).

"Frontier’s proprietary COBRA engine and the game systems that create our simulation of the whole galaxy. "

This is also a clue to it being Elite

This Job Desc, is a really cool find OP well done.

"You will play a major role in developing new game features for planetary surfaces"

Nope, sorry but that has to be Elite.
I believe that gave it away...:
"As part of our gameplay programming team, you will work with Frontier’s proprietary COBRA engine and the game systems that create our simulation of the whole galaxy."

I mean that's literally the first sentence, isn't it?

"Come join our talented team of programmers working on Elite Dangerous!" might also be a coy hint of sorts.

Start of paragraph three:

That's fine for me if their ambitions also include space ships and an offline mode! ;)
Most of the complete Elite Dangerous player base will move to Planet Zoo! 😂

anyway...once you write the AI for a vehicle it can also be used for animals right? I mean also ED could have animals on atmospheric planets 😗

Surely that's what Goliaths are meant to be (not that we can fly them)? And why do you need to hover - you have a spaceship that can fly!
Hovering tanks are 100% easier to make than tracked/wheeled vehicles. Lol
Less/no moving parts, AI(and me) won't roll over constantly, smoothes out bumpy terrain for VR users and anyone else who gets sea sick.
Done!

Plus, it's just awesome.
Imagine this in EDs universe!
