Elite with TM 16000m please help

please help guys...I bought a Thrustmaster T16000m and set it's targeting system to Elite keys, I saved the congig profile BUT when I go ingame, all I can use is X and Y axies, trigger and boost, rest is default, all those buttons i pain stakingly programmed, do nothing, what am i doing wrong??

where did you map that? outside elite?

I got mine weeks ago, had no issues mapping all to my liking.

Can you change the profile to 'custom' in the game? ED doesn't like it if you start the game with different controllers plugged in (or unplugged) from what it was expecting.

I mapped it in the joystick target software after setting deadzones

is there anything i need to do after clicking save and finish in the target GUI screen, do I need to reopen the joystick profile i created but in game?

Why not just set bindings within the game?

I use a T.16000M and don't use Target (nor do I set deadzones).

I have one and don't use the Target software. You can set dead zones in ED.
Also make sure you calibrate it within Windows.

In case no one has made it abundantly clear yet, uninstall Target and do not use it. Burn it with fire.

Set this stick up in Elite the old fashioned way, then be sure to back up your bindings file.

so all i have to do is go into ED and controls? will all my 16 or so buttons be asigned?

control panel->view devices and printers->right mouse on t16000m->game controller settings->properties->settings->callibrate.

probably. I suggest you map them as you need them. In game, nowhere else.

I'll give it a go, as I'm in VR it's very important that i do away with keyboard ingame, as i can't see it of course

yeah it's on custom, then it gives me a long list of keys with x's inclosed in squares next to them, not sure what that's for

Once you are done with setting up your target profile and saved it, there are 3 choices in the target interface above the custom profile list. Click on the profile to highlight it and click "run"
You need to run target and run the profile before you load up the game.

Ooooh, boy, VR and this joystick is fun. Those base buttons are gonna be trouble. Go get Voice Attack and get using that when you're in VR rather than hope you hit the right button for shield cell in the thick of battle.

Yes. Set all your controls outside of VR, unless you like doing things the very hard way.
