PvP Are Reverb Torps too overpowered?

Slower velocity doesn't matter in practice cause you don't fire at escaping targets anyway, what matters that if fired from sides or HU at 1.5km

Velocity matters because it determines how much time the target has to react at any given range. If I'm facing someone at 1.5km there is a small, but tangible, difference in travel time between hounds and seekers that can make the difference between being able to leverage countermeasures, rotate the ship to protect hardpoints, or even dodge the munitions with some vessels.

full packhounds salvo obliterates weapons and thrusters on viper/DBS sized ship without any targeting, its 1 shoot/1 kill weapon, ITS THAT SIMPLE, if he don't have mrp, if he does you need 2 salvos

Ships of that size are among the hardest to use seekers/packhounds against.

TBH, i find shocking that there is no consensus how STUPIDLY OP packhounds are

People have been shooting packhounds at my CMDR's hybrid and shieldless ships since they showed up in 1.3. Sure, they can be potent, but I do not share your assessment about the lack of viable counters.

maybe need to make some videos, when pack-hounds imperial eagle kills PVP META chieftains and so on.(I done this, and i don't pretend i m any good)

I have no doubt there are plenty of people that cannot handle packhounds and the chieftain, as well as it's variants, are more vulnerable than most ships due to exposed drives and closely clustered hardpoints. That's part of it's trade-offs.

Speaking about increased heat... if we make advanced plasma accelerator making same damage as normal plasma accelerator, but as it is now with triple fire rate, how can it be not STUPIDLY OP? same applies to hounds.

Hounds don't have triple the effective DPS of seekers.

All counters to seekers and hounds especially are light, and very time limited like heatsinks and work only vs pilot of lower ability.

The most reliable counter is moving one's ship.

What was the explosive resistance of your vessel's hull?

Resistances protect modules, even external ones, and any ship that I ever expect to be able to fight in after shields fail is running reactive and has ~50% explosive resistance as well as MRPs.

Torps are gimmicky and also absolute trash. Slow arm, slow travel, and require too much dedication to using multiple hardpoints to acheive enough damage to collapse a generator.

Due to the latest nerf of mines, torps are better. Mines have a 5 second arming time.

Sacrificing 2 small hardpoints to kill 4000mj of shields on mamba or fdl is not that bad, but from my experience those ships run away with like 800-1000 hull left, even if torpedo boat is left with 2 small hardpoints, it's just boring if fight not even last 2 minutes.

Not at all... While I do agree that torps are trash, mines aint are much better, I say even worse than torps, as they are now, especially if they got nerfed, and they can be destroyed by rails, even before thier arm up timer. They can be destoryed right after they got out of hardpoint, so If I see someone trying to use mines, I look out for moment when they relase said mines, just to blow thier mines right at thier faces.

When was this nerf applied? Before my little hibernation the arming time/distance seemed much quicker/closer than that.

5 second arming seems it would basically kill dive bombing

are they trying even harder to force everyone into an FDL?

Most recent patch, hasn't been mantioned in the patch notes and I personally tested this myself. It is true and all my bombers are now dust catchers in the hanger. I was taking out my Krait but it has a fighter and they lag so all fighter based ships are not viable for PvP at the moment either (atleast as long as yo uvalue fair play). So the last ships viable are all ships without fighters, no mines and basically all non-exclusive loadouts. Only basic and raw damage builds like multis, PAs, lasers, etc. are viable. What a boring game to play, really.

Its a cyclyc argument. The lance push from pre 1.6 was in response to wailing obout the python..............zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

The fact you relate PF combat rank with actual PvP ability says a lot.

Every half decent or better PvP'er here is disagreeing with your premise, and we're all saying the reason you think they're OP is you are attacking soft targets with them.

So you've gotten this forum's answer to your OP. Whether you accept it or not is up to you.

Regarding rankings everyone knows that with the real skill level in this community the truth is everything is overpowered. What you're seeing are bad pilots relying on their shields to see them through. And you want FDev to nerf one of the few hard counters to MJ stacked ridiculousness?
 
I put a large torpedo pylon on my Corvette (because i was unsure of what else to put there). Does 4 torps annihilate any shield gen, or more are needed? How much damage does every torpedo do to a shield gen?
