How to avoid Gankers.

If you’re saying that you gank, that you and your mates get together to hang out in places, specifically to hunt out lesser equipped and experienced opponents then I would question what fun you’re getting out of it. It is rather kicking tied down puppies, in my eyes.

To start with, I suggest you stop wondering why other people like to play a game differently, put pineapple on their pizza, pray to a different god, wear different sneakers or like different sports teams.

If you feel ok with it and have the opinion there is nothing wrong with it, you’re entitled to. I am equally entitled to hold a different opinion.

Except the part where you accuse of him of behaving in a way that is equivalent to 'kicking tied puppies', which is pretty much not okay by anyone's standards. So stop the 'I am not judging' act, you obviously very much are judging. In a rather nasty way.

Just a note, it probably does say somewhere, ‘By clicking open you MAY meet other commanders’, though I’m sure it doesn’t say, ‘The entire point of open is to kill each other, all other aspects of the game should be done elsewhere’.

Whatever the point of Open is is up for everyone to decide. I always play in Open, I rarely PvP and if it happens I am the 'victim'. I do all the other activities instead. If you feel you cant do it, or dont want to do it, in Open, that is your call. Play any mode you want, any way you want. I am not judging.

But you are kinda like Hitler. ;)

We're going Morbad style on this one.

suddenly thinks of gangnam style

One, because it’s allowed. Two, I have the opinion that the very specific act of getting together in a gang to hunt out a singular, far weaker opponent is questionable.

In the UK, if you kill a dog by running it over in your car, by law, you are supposed to report that to the police. If you run a cat over, there is no law forcing you to report it. This does not make it ok to go out in your car specifically to run cats over, because there are no rules.

Your opinion lacks any kind of expertise and therefore easily dismissed. Also, good thing we're not abusing animals here, are we? We're playing a game. I don't know why people keep forgetting that.

There was a deeper meaning. Forget it.

No, there isn't.

The problem isn't the gankers themselves. There's always going to be weirdos. The issue is the mechanisms (or lack of) to control it. Other games deal with this with relative ease. FDev struggle badly with basic mechanics as is evident from almost every aspect of the game.

Who do your buddies work for? I'd like to know so I can judge their authority for myself.

In any case, unrestricted PvP is intentional. Get it in your head, would you?

I got into a ring and boxed. I didn't get attacked by random guys in the gym.

I'm sadly too old now. At 34, I can't get my card any more (as i turn 35 mid-season). It's deemed too dangerous for me to fight.

In what gym do you consent to being boxed the moment you walk in the door? That's like saying someone can attack your ship before you even select Open Play.

BTW, if you don’t like what’s happening on the open forum, go to private messages. That’s the line, isn’t it?

This comeback is quickly becoming the clearest sign someone has totally lost the argument and should perhaps follow their own advice.

I admitted finding it questionable, that is an admission of judgement. No where did I say I wasn’t judging people.

You also tell me to stop judging people then compare me to Hitler. That smells like judging me. Telling me not to do something whilst doing it yourself, well, you’re kinda like Stalin ;)

That is your opinion. I didn’t realise only experts were allowed on this forum.

He didn't say it wasn't allowed, he said it was easily dismissed. You don't need an expert to see the difference, at most you need a dictionary.

Guess if you haven’t got the words yourself, you have to get help.

The problem is not a lack of words, but rather a lack of words you are likely to understand.

Anyway, I'm off. There are too many soapboxes for me to stand on, and there is far too little time. Adieu!

3 posts in a row aimed at me, Sun Tzu, Samuel L Jackson and Winston Churchill all being quoted.

Guess if you haven’t got the words yourself, you have to get help.

You'll note I didn't actually quote Mr. Tzu.

I don’t think I said I can’t understand it, I’m sure I said I thought was questionable.

If you think it's questionable you've never been in a fight. That's the problem.

I didn't say you can't, I said you don't. Can you?
Do you insult your opponents in other games as well or do you treat them with respect? Why can't you (or don't want to) treat other people in this game with respect?

Interesting. People sure seem to feel it’s their god given right to play the way they want to and if you dare to do anything that impacts that they get wadded panties.

Don’t worry, I’m sure there will be plenty of “paper ships” to pick on.

There is no reason anyone should have to share a game space with you if they don’t want to. For whatever reason they have. Ultimately it’s their time and enjoyment and if that doesn’t include you randomly blowing them up for lulz then that’s fine.

Others accept it as a element of risk in an otherwise spartan game universe.

Nothing wrong with either side but I’d agree that private play might be a better alternative if you want no PvP but nothing wrong with blocking players that aggravate you in open.

IMO.
