...for military compartments: magazine (stores additional ammo).
I like it. As long as it's targetable, with.... consequences if it takes damage.
Honestly I'd just make the boom be like "whatever ammo is in it is discharged into your own ship" - not so bad if it's a few multicannon rounds, very very bad if you've filled it with torpedoes or missiles... and when reaches 0% integrity it goes boom and takes upto 50% hp of your ship. If you have less than 50%... you go boom too.

Would you also be OK if this happened to standard weapons too? I.e. a multi cannon should also cause your ship to explode if it is damaged/destroyed when it still has ammo remaining.... and when reaches 0% integrity it goes boom and takes upto 50% hp of your ship. If you have less than 50%... you go boom too.
If not, why not?
It's terrible. Why would a slot designed specifically for military purposes have such an obvious design flaw?Careful design of hardpoints means explosions are directed outwards and the bay is hardened. Not so easy to do that with an internal module. The hot gasses have to get out somehow.
It's a bit hand-wavy, but it stands up.
Yes - we already know that. It doesn't invalidate the OP's suggestion in any way:It is so easy to collect the minerals for the ammo already.
I suggested something similar to a heavy incidenary weapon using chlorine tetraflouride.... and when reaches 0% integrity it goes boom and takes upto 50% hp of your ship. If you have less than 50%... you go boom too.
What ever broken record. Well, the Op has only been on for a few months we can assume he might not know the whole game.Yes - we already know that. It doesn't invalidate the OP's suggestion in any way:
Well Golly, it is an Incentive to buy Horizon. Synthesize Ammo and Extended Ammo Clip.Synthesis is only an option for Horizons players. How are non-Horizons players supposed to synthesize ammo?
What you are asking for is a no Risk vs reward. Can we say Dumb down the game? At least the Op had some Common sense when posting his idea is to add risk to an ammo module and cause damage to the ship if someone targets it.Synthesis takes time and requires that the ship not be hit during the synthesis process - not ideal under combat scenarios. I would expect an ammo store to provide the advantage of seamless reloading.

It does have a risk, it means you will be more fragile as you would have to sacrifice a slot for it and so would be a HRP/MRP/GSRP/SCB down compared to a similarly equipped ship.
With Combat being so easy against NPC. Losing a few Modules HRP/MRP/GSRP/SCB is not a real big deal. I will get that gun boat I always wanted for solo. I do like the Op idea. If the ammo could be targeted. It bring in a new challenge. What ever broken record.
An ammo store would lack the advantage of having premium ammo when compared to synthesis. And if you’d actually read my post you would see that it would also occupy a slot that would otherwise be used for armour or shields.
Where’s your risk vs reward now?![]()
I guess I could change my phrasing a bit without changing my overall point (I.e. that someone is unhelpfully stating the obvious).I hate to say it Nanite2000 you do sound like a broken record when you post stuff like "Yes - we already know that. It doesn't invalidate the OP's suggestion in any way:". People have points also.
Don't assume. What ever broken record. Well, the Op has only been on for a few months we can assume he might not know the whole game.
Oooh I like this.Been suggested a few times.
