I have heard that DK2 resolution isn't that great compared to say DK1? Can any owner confirm that ?
Is activating the 3D-"Ocolus Rift" mode with 1080p a valid benchmark for the performance of the DK2 or do i miss something? Have arround 60-75 fps inside stations, can't belive it![]()
but have only used it in ED so I cannot give an opinion on others games.
Before I ordered my DK2 i asked around on the assetto Corsa forums what they thought of the difference, and is it really worth it. 90% of people said YES ''BUT'' don't expect a HUGE improvement because you will let yourself down.
So i posted this rift simulator on there forums and asked if its accurate....
http://vr.mkeblx.net/oculus-sim/
and there response was...
it is inaccurate, but if he was to choose the one that's more likely to the DK2 rez then he would choose the CV1 example in the simulator.
What do you guys think?
Ha, hats pretty cool. I'd say the dk2 approximation is pretty accurate.
Mixed choices then, some say DK1 example, some say DK2, some say CV1. LOL

well its got a lot to do with the actual game, i know on the DK1 playing games, some seemed to be A LOT clearer than others, and some just looked like Dogy doo doo,
i can say assetto corsa looks less blocky and has better fps on the DK1 than ED has.
so the game would also play a big part in the visuals.
That being said, i try not to mistake server lag while using the rift for fps drops... in the same stations sometimes are smooth as silk, other times its like flick book animation![]()
DK2 owners should try Star Conflict. Out of all the games and demos I've tried that one seemed to look the best IMO. It's F2P and can be found on Steam.
Now you tell us, with beta but a few eons away. Oh not got steam too.
DK2 owners should try Star Conflict
hmm native support too,, only thing that puts me off is the 3rd person, is there a cockpit mode? or is it pretty much a F2P EvE kinda game?
Im stubborn when it comes to sims, has to have cockpit, or drivers view or i feel neglected of a full experience.
But others i have tried in 3rd person seem to work ok, like ArmA, tomb Raider, mass effect, using vorpx of course.

That is a cool demo of the Rift view.
What is interesting is just how important low persistence is in comparison to resolution.
I take it to get low persistence you need a kick-@ss GPU to be able to refresh that quick?
You just need to render at a minimum of 75fps all the time. As soon as it drops below that, low persistence cannot happen. It will noticeably judder too.
anyone know if beta 2 will use direct mode ?
looks like i might need a GPU upgrade also then...
how do you think a GTX 670 twin froza is going to handle it?
i know it runs all games maxed out, but rifting on the DK2 with a 670 .... ??
