Crystalline Clusters Vanishing?

I think it might be a deliberate stealth nerf, cos it's a very specific percentage and it applies to all sites. You will get either 132 or 135 from all the standard sites now, exceptions being the rare huge sites, like site 1 on the antimony planet in outotz. It's too accurately done to be a coincidence. As if they wanted to ensure you can't fill up from a single site any more.
Interesting, I got exactly the same numbers when I filled up my bins last week at HIP, so I'd agree that's too accurate.
 
Same here, they often vanish when shot. I'm also getting occasional crashes, ED suddenly shuts down and leaves me back at the launcher. As this only ever happens when I shoot a shard, this implies a bug (memory leak?)
 
About 75% if the clusters disappear when I am shooting. It must be a bug since even my entire game once crashed.
This disappearance is annoying. I tried various distances, shooting rhythms. Nothing worked. Only 1 out if 4 spawn a harvestable crystal for me.

Same here. My entire game just crashed. It seems the game has problems producing the flying round clusters.

Not sure the two things are related.

The Bio' POIs seem to just cause random crashes for me, regardless of what I'm doing.

I might just be driving around the site and...CTD.
 
Was having the same problem, first 5 clusters disappearing. I checked the forums and came across this thread.
I have noticed that "Single Firing" (one shot) instead of hold the trigger down, at the cluster dropped materials.
My thoughts: Maybe if rapid firing are destroying the material as it spawns from the cluster as the "health" (if there is one) on the materials is low

Have tried slow fire. Rapid fire. Close range. Long range. I think we've come to the conclusion it's not even RNG. There's too much consistency behind how many "good" drops you get per POI. Have come to the conclusion it's "by design" and that if these POIs are populated by algorithm, then the same seed is always used to ensure identical outcome.

But, "always" might be too strong a term. So YMMV. ;-)

Are you farming by reloading the instance over and over? I thought they nerfed that if so.

Relogging doesn't affect these sites. I think you have to leave the system, but not sure what the trigger really is, could be that thursday tick.

It's at least two weeks, I once spent that long for one site checking for it to reload and it hadn't despite many relogs and ticks, so you can't just relog at bio sites.
 
I had this issue a couple of weeks back. At first I thought objects were dissapearing. After some time, what I noticed was that sometimes objects would vibrate at an extremely fast rate. So fast that the graphics often could not display the object if it then rolled a bit, it would hit a pebble and bounce really high. High as in probably in orbit high. I tried chasing some that didn't bounce very high and managed to locate one about 1km away. Restarting the game does not solve the issue.
 
I had a similar issue. Tried a few different thinigs to see if there was some pattern to it, but it just seems to be random.
 
Some say it takes two weeks, I found that it more like two months: And even then not always. Thus one has to utilize any and all of the available sites on any and all of the available planets one can locate. Sure hope they fix it.
 
Just to be clear, what this issue isn't:

1. Materials floating away due to low gravity
2. Materials falling through planet surface
3. Dependent on which angle you shoot from
4. Dependent on how many times you shoot (or pips to weps)
5. Anything related to geological sites (these are biological sites)
6. Respawn rate of materials (either they are all new or none are)

What this issue is:

1. No material dropping from structures ~50% of the time
2. Persistent
3. Present even on a new account that's never been to that biological site prior
4. Annoying
5. In need of explanation from FDev since a ticket was opened - If it's "working as intended" they could just say so. Sure we'd be miffed about the stealth nerf but we'd at least be aware of it being NOT a bug.
 
Ah, I thought this meant geological sites too.

In that case, I've only been a Bio site once or twice, so can't really confirm or anything.

Sounds like a bug to me though - the disappearance of the items doesn't fit with the rules of the game.
 
Issue seems fixed now - just done 3 shard sites - no vanishings at all. And with the improved SRV aim - lovely :)
Yes, I was looking for a thread to post so, too. I visited one site for each material type - having 0 in all but selenium - and managed to fill up and leave some spares! Instead of vanishing, I got the spiked versions back, so I think that the vanishing was some sort of bug where the spiked materials failed to show.
With the aiming improvement, these are the best features of this update.
