Well the no LTI on the 890j saved me $890 tonight.

I loved it in the PTU, even with its flaws (fuel burn and missing cargo capacity).

Now I have to hope that my LTI 600 explorer gets a great rework.

Did you ever get the hangar bay to work consistently?

Also what are the acoustics like in the opera hall? ;)

...Also, congratulations to CIG for ripping off yet another intellectual property in order to sell ships. As far as i know, the Great Gatsby is protected under IP laws until 2021. There again, i believe they will be protected under the parody clause. :p

The opera singer scene was almost a straight copy and paste from the 5th Element. So much 'flattery' in one presentation.

Towards the end of todays video they were sure to mention that 3.8 and 3.9 would really ramp up - but SQ42 was the total focus of production at the moment, and that apparently the PU cannot meaningfully progress until persistence and SSOCS are both implemented. Staggered development is going to help, urm, I have no idea how.

I'm going to invent Staggering Development and program Stellar Denizen on the ZX Spectrum after a crate of Macallan.

Look at the progress I've made already! I'll be selling $4000 UDG's in no time :D
I don't know if we're able to share project development but I've made a start too.

That's kind of interesting. Working on Microtech but they said they couldn't add any more systems until SSOCS was done as the engine wouldn't be able to handle it.

So, what's the reality?

a) SSOCS coming before or with 3.8
b) They are working on it, but they know they won't be able to add it to 3.8, its there just to generate hype.
c) That the whole business about not being able to add new systems without SSOCS was a load of rubbish.

And what is that i spy? Ship to ship docking? Hmmm.. i remember when they said they were scrapping that idea due to the problems they had with it.

Oh, and Bartender is apparently negative. Oh well.

Hold on.... 4.0, ship to station docking? Huh? They have that... so what is this? Tier 2 docking or some such?

Hey, remember back in 2016 when they said farming was going to be part of 4.0? Farming... lol, but anyway, looks like they changed their mind on that.

Overall, its rather wierd.

Aaaahhh - but Genuine Roberts himself apparently worked some code magic and made a very impressive implementation. Or so they said a few months ago.

Now, do you have your lulzbuckets on standby?

In order to add new content, they are looking at removing content!

You just don't understand Server Client Side Content Selection Streaming.

This is good for Star Citizen, as it means CI-G can now really ramp up focusing on content rather than content. Refactoring content into content selectively with high fidelity content selection pipelines is a normal part of gamedev, and will inevitably mean than we get SQ42 even sooner than anticipated! We might even get Chapter 2 before the first installment as part of the new staggered development methodology - that's just how much progress they have made on their internal build!

You should probably buy an 890 Jump.

Have I mentioned recently that CIG appears to completely lack anything resembling competence, and takes every opportunity to reinforce this appearance? Because it truly seems like every appearance CIG makes shows off a stunning lack of competence.

This may seem redundant but that's a simple necessity to drive home exactly how ridiculously amateurish everything they do is.

Actually, that's not fair. Amateurs are called that because, while not professional, they love a topic and try their best to keep up with it. CIG very clearly does neither.

I think you have the wrong word. It's not weird, it's disingenuous.

I don't think that is fair. At all. I have no reason to assume the Devs and artists aren't passionate. Rag on management as you want, but this is about too much.

Agree, the devs are probably doing what they can to please their lords and masters.

Oh - it's not the developers fault at all. They are simply trying to deliver upon the defined scope of work tasked to them.

The problem is - the scope of work is apparently so nebulous and changes every minute at the whim of upper management that they really aren't in a position to deliver - as upper management is busy waving hands and making whoosy pew-pew noises.

I used to be of that general persuasion before. We're about to enter year nine, so I'm not any more

If the devs and artists are passionate, they should get a job where that characteristc is valued and used. At this stage, that could be enterprise java and still be a vastly more rewarding. Staying at CIG has long since become a handicap to any kind of claim beyond just doing it for the money.

Put another way, if anyone at CIG wants to display a modicum of competence and passion, it's quite easy: just leave.

No one is talking about this commercial? Its what running passengers should be like!

What, have they already included the mixing of drinks, selecting of music to be played on board (and managing the equipment for that), and the different uniforms for the flight attendants? :D

Let's face it, CR and his troopers are GREAT at vending the dream, but that's as far as their capabilities go. I'd compare them to Diskworld's salesman, Cut-My-Own-Throat Dibbler, the one whose sausages and pies upset stomachs like nobody's business . . . yet they come back for more . . .

Hey, they answered this one!

The idea is to remove Delamar to include Microtech and it's moons... Delamar, which isn't supposed to be in the Stanton system in the first place, was added so CR could instigate the animated mission giver thing after showing it off on one of the first 3.0 video lies thing at Citcon in 2016...it's remained ever since. Apart from losing my adopted home of Levski...I'd prefer Microtech and moons were added.

I have tryed the new patch.
Going to Lorville with my aurora.
Arrived at lorville, requested permission to land.
Try to land and suddently my ship start to do what ever it want untill it exploded.
Second try. Interdicted on my way to lorville. After that, my spooling system go mad and I can't set a route anymore. After many tries, my ship suddently exploded.
Third try. Arrived at lorville. This time I used the gamepad instead of the mouse. Try to land. Ship become almost incontrollable but I've been able to enter the hangar. Into the hangar the ship began to drift and get stuck in a wall. I try to exit the ship anyway. I end up stucked under the floor.
Had to logout. Upon login I find myself again in that damn fu**ing station.
How the hell can there be someone defending this poo poo at this point!
