make secondary fire reticles blue

First i wrote something along the line that reticle shape change would be better. But after a little pondering i concluded that this might be a trap. So yes, color change might work if done properly. I just am not sure which colors would be good, i consider it very likely that i'd loose track of a blue reticle when my railguns fire away.
someone did suggest at one point on this forum to let us choose reticle colors but i think that ends up co-inciding with the constant requests to make a properly customizable hud

Except for analyze mode is blue reticled, as I'm sure everyone here should know if they play the game. Maybe you should know your ship better. Do you need color codes for your gas pedal and brake? Or for your saved radio stations? No. You just know because that's what we do.

I think shape would work better for the above stated reason but, realistically, if you can't remember what color is what, then different shapes aren't going to help either. At this point it's the responsibility of the pilot to know their ship

not entirely sure what you are getting at with color, as it stands right now both primary and secondary are orange.

Analyze mode reticles are blue, i never said secondary. Is it not like that for everyone? I'm sure this isn't just on PS4.
this suggestion is dealing with combat mode specificaly, nothing has been suggested for analysis mode.
secondary being blue is for secondary weapon bindings is what the suggestion is for.

that's nice and all but what I'm saying is making the combat reticle blue would defeat the purpose of the analysis mode being blue so you can tell the difference. I feel like you're intentionally misunderstanding what I'm saying.feel like people interested in this game really aren't that dumb

how would you mistake analysis mode for combat mode since the entire center of the hud is a rectangular blue in analysis mode instead of a single reticle?
on top of that combat mode is a circular orange. a single target reticle being blue would not impact the user as to wether analysis mode or combat mode is on since the hud changes drastically between the two modes.

It's a good idea. Although, I'd personally prefer for secondary reticle just be a different shape. Maybe primary be a circle, secondary be a cross. When they converge it's a cross in a circle, so looking neat when firing in fixed mode.
im fine with a different shape as long as we can distinguish primary and secondary bindings.

@Azmuth Divarchchron: like the basic premise BUT would suggest some option other than colour to distinguish between the two.

How about small rings instead of solid dots for the secondary weapon aim points? (along the lines of something nearly suggested by @Sylow)

My problem with the colour aspect is due consideration for those with colour blindness (not a condition I suffer from personally but I know people who do).

The colour option would not be so bad if FD also make the colouring of HUD elements more configurable by the end users.

Yeah i can deffinitely see different shaped reticles working especially for colorblind people. But proper hud customization would be great too.

I would be okay with this but also don't really need it because I don't mind designing my loadouts to be playable. This is why I don't do a bunch of fixed guns with different shot speeds... I usually keep it to a single fixed gun that bumps up my DPS against big ships with smaller guns for picking off the smaller targets...

If you could just do that Fdev... that would be great. sips coffee

It would really help builds with a mix of fixed and gimballed weapons too. Sometimes I run a PA or 2 on my secondary fire group, and my reticle gets swarmed by group one gimballed reticles like bees on honey.

Rep for the office space reference. ;)
