Is Panite double hotspot broken/ nerfed.

I just started to mine yesterday. I build a T9 for mining only. and went to a double hotspot for Painitre. (Hyades sector DB-X D1-112) First run i got 350 mil plus and cashed out. I then returned for a 2nd run at same location different spot. ( there are like 4 or 5 different spots for the overlap hotspot) The first asteroid i prospected showed plenty of material. However once i hit it with my laser, nothing came off the asteroid. I mean NOTHING came off the asteroid. I moved on to the next asteroid same thing. I moved to a completely new planet (HIP 21991) Same thing. I got nothing.
So today I reinstalled the game and went to the first hotspot. and i got nothing again. I want to be clear. the prospector says 40+% painite medium concentration. and not a single flake or chunk came off the asteroid. Also you can see the percentages of material on the asteroid going down to zero.
Im totally frustrated and have no clue whats going on. And I cant find any explanation anywhere.... what.

Did you check the contacts Panel?

If in any case of freak accident you moved Painite into "Ignored Commodities", nothing will show up on the Scanner and the Fragments in the Contact Panel will be somewhat greyed out.

Regardless of settings, the chunks coming off are audible as well, that should be a 2nd hint if things are working or not.

Is it possible that you've accidentally added Painite to your "Ignore" list? You'd see that in the left-hand Contacts panel when a Painite fragment had been released (it wouldn't show on your scanner if you'd set it to Ignore).

yes i did... thank you

Problem fixed... thank you guys... It was driving me crazy.

It is normal. Once, I put the Iron and Chromium on the ignore-list (I was full of this stuff) and I forgot this. Next week, when I used some of those materials, I was wondering why I am not getting them during mining. :)

You do know that limpets won't try to collect full mats, right? No need to set them to ignore unless you prefer them greyed out when you don't need them.

My first thought was that the OP wasn't using a Mining Laser cuz ya know.....mistakes happen. Like kitting a ship for mining and forgetting the refinery. (ask me how I know about that :D).

And who hasn't forgotten to load up with limpets?

I have been mining the Hyades double Painite hotspot for a while now with very good results so I know that hotspot still works well.

Auto-ignore would be great. If full, ignore. If not, unignore. Seems simple.
along with auto ignore ALL illegal / stolen goods....

why you have to manually ignore painite (if its illegal / stolen ) and all the other 702946924376907234 materials that pop out of pirates / traders while harvesting engineering mats while combatting and then manually go and re-enable it when you want it.... sheesh

crap design

collector shoots off for stolen goods, nononononononono quick close the cargo doors, while frantically trying to move the item onto ignore list and expel the stolen goods as fast as possible, at which time you realised they are moving because they shot out a ship so they dance about in the list because it likes to order them by distance just so, even 1m makes a difference and just when you click on it it moves up the list and now your ignoring chemical manipulators!

Meanwhile.... "scan detected" ahhhh you have stolen good sir... its the detention center and a 30 minute round trip for you for a 100cr fine! C&P working as intended

YAY!

Pics or it doesn't happen. Actually - no need for the pics - that doesn't happen. You get a fine, you dock and pay it off. Or fly a proper ship and avoid the fine :)

theres a little embellishment but still a crap design where an auto ignore all illegal / stolen goods button would do.

Don't put materials on the ignore list. After e dry three trips, go to a material trader and trade up every material you collect to get the ones you can't collect. I'm now completely full of all the level 5 ones that I got for virtually no effort. That would have taken hundreds of hours searching for them in an SRV.

This. Anything you fill up gets auto-ignored. The only issue is if you have 2 limpets out and the 1st fills the storage then the 2nd will sit there waiting for space, but that only really happens in HGE, and is the sign that a visit to the mat trader is in order.

Not that some tweaks to the 'ignore' area wouldn't be nice, we'll see if anything changes on Thursday (or maybe next Wednesday) :)

Then you have to recollect the others or trade down again. I've done that since Horizons, however it's not uncommon that one of the many non-G5 rated mats gets neglected and you need it later. Then you have to find a mat trader or go collect again. So although I trade up as well, I also back fill the lower grades since they are floating around freely anyhow (I don't go intentionally mat hunting for lower grades, I just collect what the ships leave). While doing this your cache will fill again one by one, so you'll keep getting that big storage full message.

Also, I use the ignore feature to avoid needing the contacts tab. If the square box is dashed instead of solid, I know it's an ignored material. I do find it weird that the sensors don't show it though, as if it doesn't exist any longer.
