i see killer limpets are back with a vengance :( dont fly over 500m/s

My solution is...
Launch prospector
Immediately Nose up a little and...
Slow down a bit then

It never hits or damages the ship - works for me every time but then again I'm never above 500 MTRS/sec
if you dont fly above 500m/s then im pretty sure the bug which occurs when you fly with collection limpets out over 500m/s wont happen
 
Did they ever fix the bug that kills you if you open the gal mao and get hit by an aateroid fragment?

Well on second.thought if I have to ask...
 
i did a test the other day, just not uploaded the video yet;

heres the test....

- 4 pips to SYS and using the lateral thrusters crash into a limpet at approx 100m/s no more and i lose all shields from full rings and about 10% hull

- 4 pips to SYS and face plant an asteroid at 600m/s and i bounce off with one ring of shields left..... hmmmmmmmmm :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
Limpets contain fissionable material and shield technogy (used for grabbing things, for example) and so not only interact with your shields reducing then to close to zero, but explode causing great damage to your hull.
Asteroids, on the other hand, are rocks.
 
What I think is stupid is to expect a solid object slamming into a space craft, to simply have no effect at all.
aye yes but thats only half of the stupidity which is why its ever more so annoying

i.e - an incy teeny weeny yellow polka dot limpet weighing one ton hitting your ship does more damage (and lets not forget the limpet isnt damaged and carrys on collecting /flying afterwards) than faceplanting (a larger than a cutter) lets say ~2000t ton asteroid at 600m/s or indeed face planting a planet at 10,000m/s using gravity and still bouncing off with shields in tack.....
 
Just to add to the Killer limpets, it dont happen on every ship, the dolphin is immue to the death limpets the orca is not
