[Video] Open letter from community to Elite Dangerous

So you sort of agree that they've taken a pretty simple point and then muddied it up with all kinds of petty niche gubbins rendering it pretty much pointless and unintelligible ?.

Like I said death by committee.

I agree with you in that they've taken a pretty simple bunch of points, as common ground, but I don't see it as something negative by itself.

Sure sure, everyone agrees that THEY aren't the sheep, everyone else is.

Because I'm quoting someone else and showing a picture of the like count. I've made my own posts, in this very thread even.

Its a YouTube term.

Anyway, again, just bc OA said it, it holds no more weight than anyone else's opinion. Thats the point I'm getting at

That's a hell of an accusation to make, especially from a mod. Care to provide any reasoning for it other than you don't like what they're saying?

Yeah I have to agree with this as well. This petition isn’t about Yamiks he is just part of a much larger whole. Again, it is disheartening to see a good faith attempt to prompt Frontier to consider positive changes mischaracterized. Being cynical and sniping at people is easy. Trying to effect positive change less so. I for one am happy that a large portion of the playerbase has spoken up this week and want their voice to be heard. You don’t have to agree with us, but cynical disrespect is never helpful in these kinds of situations.

If that's your point then you missed that MY point was just a counter to the mod claiming that ONLY 21 people agreed with the OP.

It's not about a youtuber, it's about the data.

I agree. I highly doubt Yamiks has done this for likes or views. He's popular enough to not depend on this forum.

I think that those people are truly optimistics and they really care about the future of the game. In my opinion they fail to understand the futility of what they are trying to do, as Frontier is not one of their friends, even being some of them so close to the company since long time ago. I think they don't understand the true nature of their true relationship with the company, and the little thanks they will receive for all the content they have created for the game, for years.

But, I would prefer a thread discussing the issues, not the messanger, as ever (ad hominem).

Wow, that’s pretty dark. I think Frontier may eventually listen if the feedback is presented properly which in my view it was. Even if they are only motivated by naked economic self-interest (I don’t believe this is the case) they still have a lot to gain by paying attention to the overall feeling amongst their playerbase.

BTW i did sign the thing, one important thing to note here on this picture: On youtube, dislikes on comments are not visible. Try it out. only the original commenter can see the dislikes. just throwing this out here for clarification.
Thx for that, that make sense. I was wondering how this was possible on youtube, no dislikes.

OH, that is good to know.

Would be interesting in seeing the dislikes from OA then.

Edit to add: I've updated my posts where I was making the assertion that there were no dislikes to reflect this new bit of information.

Dude, no one is playing your silly game.

If you can't read that then you have no business taking a side in this.

It turns it from a petition to an argument.

"Meat is murder", is a good example agree or disagree the point is clear and its catchy. It also fits on a protest sign.

"We want a large variety of sometimes mutually exclusive stuff and things GRR". Just isn't really in the same league.

There's also no way for FDEV to reply to it as its so nebulous, its ultimately self defeating.
