That would lose sales. That ignores the existence of the Focused Feedback (remember that? That died a death didn't it) on PowerPlay which came up with some really exciting propsals for PP and made promises of "we'll look to work on this as soon as the time is right." That was a year and a half ago now and FD have been utterly silent on it. I'm convinced they have no intention to ever touch PP again now that Sando is elsewhere and just hope we all forget they ever brought it up for discussion. Hopefully they prove me wrong but when I have asked about it I'm met with "we have no plans at this time." Not even a "we want to but not right now".
This is an example of the poor communication. Just tell us one way or the other. If development on PP is dead for the forseeable then just say so and apologise for getting people's hopes up.
That's great and all for those among the community who's gameplay expectations are set down there around 2-3 (on a scale of 1-10), but it's not really impressing me when so many potentially awesome parts of ED lie moldering to dust. Carriers will probably end up just being a tie in to Arx where the player gets very little but is encouraged to buy more packs.I know you've stopped playing ED now Jason old chap, but as a current player I've got some great news for you.
We are getting a squadron (and personal) carrier update soon and next year we get the all new DLC. Everyone's a winner.
Your expectations have always been set pretty low, MaxReally, I haven't noticed.
Always have been. Thankfully I have been surprised many a time.Your expectations have always been set pretty low, Max![]()

Seeing as how my rep score blows his out of the water, I'm thinking you're wrong on that oneFar more likeable than entitled elitists.
I didn't say that, I said you were unhappy with the outcome of your choice after you explained that you were unhappy with exactly that.
Give me an example of a false promise and I'll fact you on it.

I know that you think people who no longer play shouldn't have a seat at the table, but with over 4000 hours invested, I've got a pretty decent perspective on the history and future of the experience.
And this is an example of why FD don't like telegraphing new stuff in the game too far ahead of its implementation. They found a problem and had to make them personal carriers instead.Because there was explicit discussion of cooperative gameplay around obtaining, maintaining, moving, upgrading a Squadron fleet carrier. I don't deny that personal fleet carrier is great for individual players but it removes the possibility of in-game-supported internal squadron gameplay.
Man, this thread is sure filling up with ex-players. Are they the ones signing the petition?
SOP for Frontier. So when they get sometihng wrong and it makes people stop using it they just abandon it? Doesnt sound right to me.
They just can't admit there was a problem. And this is an example of why FD don't like telegraphing new stuff in the game too far ahead of its implementation. They found a problem and had to make them personal carriers instead.
No, because as I said in my post, the communication failed not because they promised us something then changed direction but because they promised us something then changed direction without telling us. They knew what they'd said to us in 2017 but by the time they changed it they'd kinda forgotten they'd said it. The team behind the announcement in 2017, Sandro & Ed had both moved on from Elite and Frontier respectively and so Frontier forgot to tell us of the change and we carried on in ignorance of it. It's an example of not keeping us up to date with design decisions. Most of us are adult enough to accept design changes if they're explained but FD don't do this. Instead we get silence and speculation which leads to a vacuum of speculation and Chinese whispers among players and the inevitable let downs. Frontier are awful at managing expectations. You don't manage expectations by just not saying anything. And this is an example of why FD don't like telegraphing new stuff in the game too far ahead of its implementation. You misunderstand the difference between a feature being an intrinsic part of another feature allowing greater breadth of the latter, and a feature merely being accessible. Fleet Carriers were promised as an intrinsic part of Squadrons, allowing greater squadron gameplay and interaction. This was changed and such gameplay is now not possible via carriers. I theory crafted nothing. Were you at FX17 and hear them announced? Did you speak with the devs as I did?
I'm a rep for EXO as a Triple Elite group and we have a Discord server with the CMs where we can chat and used to have regular voice chats too. Among my peers I'm known as very pro-Frontier (if you can believe lol!) and this is due to my experience of Will and the gang being nothing but great & professional. I have so much time for them but I honestly feel they are hamstrung by management in terms of communication to the wider community.

I'm glad we don't see crap like that posted here.
