Along with dozens of other people that had a perfect working game before the update, we now cannot connect after downloading the update.

Sorry to hear that. Can only reiterate my own experience, which has been absolutely zero problems in the last two weeks, and for the four or five years before. Hope things improve for you

Much appreciated. I don't know for sure if the connection error is unique to PC users but a word of warning to anyone about to use a new platform. Many people have this, they've tried "every trick in the book" to fix it with no feedback from Devs. Essentially, people cannot get past the start window before hitting a connection error, so, we're all out of the game until someone at FD offers solutions or a downloadable fix. In fact I'd also advise anyone not to buy the game during its current state.

My next big step is VR - actually using head tracking and it's already a big wow so I can't wait to see VR.

The only "downside" being that going back to playing on a screen may be well-nigh impossible. At least in my case...

Sometimes, but rarely, it is necessary to disable the virtual reality mode when traveling in SRV on the surfaces of planets, as there is an effect of motion sickness. But it rarely happend. And this is for another topic - about Vrtual Reality.

Don't do it until the issue many of us are having is fixed. We just can't login. If you buy the PC version then have the same issue, you'll have paid for a game you can't play.

Thank you for that! I’ll bear that in mind because after all there are plenty of other sims to get into in the PC until fixed as @Old Duck can attest to, having just found out about the VERY interesting ‘Infinity: Battlescape’

While I appreciate the sentiment, I don't think the recent lack of vertical sync on XBox is as tricky to find and fix as your problem was.

ps - we're all / were software developers in this forum it seems, myself included.

Yet, 6 months later, its status on the issue tracker still remains "confirming"

Lol - that was introduced in one of the bugfixes last January - and yet you didn't spot it until April - kinda says how important it is to fix. Old bugs with little impact are seldom looked at. Maybe on its anniversary...
