Patch Notes September Update - Patch 2

Woah, PC: Missions/Passengers, etc when scrolling down through items, it freaks out and freezes display.
Only going to Engineers gets you out of it... (sounds familiar?)

Probably be another week while they find out what's causing it and fix the problem...puts Elite back on the shelf for now
 
Yep, tested with the new patch, made it into the mission menu but it softlocks the game. Looking left or right at the sidescreens does partially remove the softlock but only leaves you back at the mission menu, from which you're unable to exit. Need to exit to main menu to break the softlock.

As with other Station UI soft-locks in the past, going to the right menu and selecting ENGINEERS will close the Missions for you and replace it with Engineers. So you can get out of it without having to exit the game.

How this patch got past QA though...
 
Is it me? Should I raise a ticket, but access the store from the station menu, and once on the home page unable to do access anything else, can't access anything, can't even exit the screen, have to close down the game.
 
As a workaround to quitting the game - enter the engineering menu will clear the softlock on the missions board. It'll lock again when you go back into it though but at least it avoids leaving the game.
I appreciate your advice. But you cant leave the mission board, you cant do anything, its unresponsive.
 
Hmm, I think the devs are actively trying to fix things from the back-end, as no missions or passengers, etc it showing now.
Hopefully they can sort it out without having to rollout another patch.
 
how can you Fix it on the Server, in background?
Client-server architecture. If the error is with the server's handling of menu actions, it can probably be fixed server-side without having to patch the client again.
 
sorry it doesn't work, but partially.
Maybe it works if no follow-up mission is displayed in the list?! i am not sure, but could accept missions

This bug was introduced with the april update. It was reported months ago, by several people, on pc and ps4.
Yet, 6 months later, its status on the issue tracker still remains "confirming"
Reproduced, added a confirmation. Now up to 7. Could three more commanders add their confirmations please?

I also tried hard to lock the mission screen. Not happening for me; it works perfectly (PC).
 
Genuine question here, do FDev have an internal testing server and testers? Surely all it takes is one tester to sit in a room with an XBox, PlayStation and PC and go through a list of things that have changed since the last release and test on each platform. What looks like happened here is QA have said "yes the mission boards are fixed for console players - ship it" instead of saying "Yes the boards are fixed for console players - lets just check they still work on PC". It must be getting embarrassing by now.
 
In the meantime I cant connect to frontier servers since september, 18. With vpn I cant connect to frontier servers, without vpn I cant connect to internet at all. None of the "VPN issue workarounds" doesnt work.

Just curious, but why is everyone having to us a VPN?
 
They are not. In some cases it's the only way to connect to the internet, Universities etc where you have to use a VPN. Most home users don't use one

Ok, I figured it had something to do with playing where you're not supposed to be playing. :unsure:
