Do players still get the entire pack of paint jobs with a purchase? If not then paint jobs just went up about 6 fold.

Well based on the fact that they are advertising single skins, I think I'm on the money. However nice way to deflect like a proper forum dad. Each pack costs roughly the same amount, one earned you six skins while the other gives a single one.

In no way is that a net benefit. That's a huge net loss. as well as offering a manipulative tactic with no realistic means to earn anything in a reasonable amount of time.

However I know zealots like yourself don't care about actual logic.
As I said. Do your research first. You are wrong. Simple as that. No I'm not a zealot, it's not my fault you are factually wrong.

What a tool.

If your point is single paint jobs or bobbleheads are terribly overpriced, I agree actually.
My point is not just that, is the idea of value per dollar or unit currency being much lower now.

Two skins for the price of 6 is not good, one skin for the price of 6 is horrendous. I hope people are not buying these things.

With the old system of the Frontier store, in order to get a ship paint job you bought a pack which was about 6 different skins. Now generally that pack would cost about 300 Frontier points or $5.

With this new system one single paint job can cost anywhere from 3250 ARX to 6250 ARX.

5000 ARX is about 5 bucks still. So for the same money you're getting 1/6 of what you would get with the same purchase via Frontier points. In essence everything has become drastically more expensive.

Overall this is a net loss, which I knew it would be because publishers don't do anything for the betterment of the player. Extremely low cap, extremely grindy which creates the illusion of in-game unlocks, while in actuality heavily increasing the price of a skin while drastically decreasing value per dollar or equivalent currency.

In no world is about $4 for one skin equate to a better value than $5 for 6 skins.

This is the same reason that many mobile games have these artificial essentially useless currencies. The average player is going to tolerate earning about 1000 ARX manually, while being incentivised to spend to get the rest that they would need.

I knew it was a suspicious from the beginning when they were not back crediting the numerous years many of us put in the game. How many players are going to realistically save for one single 3250-6250 ARX skin.. with a 400 ARX cap per week?

Overall the system is a huge net loss for gamers. I don't know because I have not bought anything since the update and I don't plan to..

However if the player does not still receive the entire pack then this is most certainly a huge value per dollar/pound downgrade for the gamer. Makes me glad that I got the skins I wanted before it was and even larger rip off than before.

It honestly makes me wish I could opt out of even earning ARX because the drop rate is useless and only is there to facilitate psychological manipulation.

I have to check but I'm sure individual paintjobs are not that expensive. I think they start from 620 Arx each. You can't get them in packs now, though, so there are no bundles anymore. Maybe in the future. It will be interesting to see what happens around Black Friday.

These 2 sentences have nothing to do with each other.
Then read the entire post and don't cherry-pick. My point is still the same point. ARX is there only for psychological manipulation and the actual value is much worse than the old system.

People like you should read better than criticize.

Yeah, it’s weird. It’s like a company is using a well known mechanic to try to engineer profits. Just as a matter of interest, do you know Frontier’s charity registration number?

I’ll try reading that thing I came in reading.

6 paint jobs (eg: Tactical) cost $5.
Let's assume a single Tactical paintjob costs 620 Arx, that's a total of 3720 Arx. For $4 you get 5,000 arx. That leaves a difference of 1280 Arx; which lets you buy an additional two paint jobs at 620 Arx.

So $4 for 8 paintjobs, when it was $5 for 6.

Am I missing something, does my math suck.. or .. ?
Now do that same calculation for Fusion which was also a pack. 3250 ARX for 1.

16,250 ARX for what used to cost 5 bucks. Military is one of the most basic paint jobs, look at some of the non basic ones.

I have no problem with a game company trying to make more money off their product but it's foolish to think the new change was somehow a gift to the playerbase. To the OP I would say that there were plenty of people who knew this would happen and that it was obvious this would happen.

Yeah that's the same argument people used to make about loot boxes, "companies have to get paid", "you don't have to buy it", basically arguing for your own manipulation.

16,250 to 19500 points for what used to cost $5 which is a pack of Fusion paints. Go ahead and do the calculation on that one.

ARX is aimed at whales to warp the perception of value of some items on the store.

Buy retextures with single colors done by interns in a few hours. Show them again and again you can reward sloppy work with real money, and never learn.

It's super easy to check the ARX prices of paintjobs from the ingame store. Here is a list I gathered (all for individual paintjobs):
620
1260
1820
2220
3250
The most common prices seem to be 620 and 1820. Funny that the OP "randomly" picked the most expensive one of 3250 as the screenshot.

This means for every 2 weeks of play (2 x 400 cap) you get one costing 620 for free.
Look at Fusion man that was 3250 one single paint job, that paint job came in a pack of 6. 6* 3250, = 19,500 ARX for what was once $5.

$12.99 + $3.99 for what was once $5.
