Do players still get the entire pack of paint jobs with a purchase? If not then paint jobs just went up about 6 fold.

I miss the website.

The only metric I am using is my own earnings of ARX. Since my bank refuses to honor the new ARX store, my only means of purchasing items is through earned ARX. So, packs of purchased ARX are not an option for me. Steam might eventually allow purchases, but that dilutes Frontier's revenues.

I therefore do not base my playstyle on ARX. I earn only what I would during normal play. This makes for reduced revenues from persons like myself. Not good for Frontier. I can't go impulse shopping for ship kits, etc. The method of bribing me with "free" ARX simply won't work for players like myself.
I'm in the same boat as you (apart from banking issues). Although I admit I already bought many items I wanted for my ships pre Arx, and frankly the new offerings on the store aren't enticing enough for me to splurge. In the end, the current set up makes it easier for me to not spend, which is a silver lining in all of this.

I can see myself spend on some of the seasonal paints. But overall my purchasing habit has changed from many impulse buys to fewer, more considered purchases.

Most of us don't WANT to be able to buy stuff in-game, hence the massively overwhelming majority of people hating the stupid "store" button in the game's UI.

Are you sure? Because at least for me it’s a massive improvement that you can actually see what a skin looks like on a ship before you buy it. Sure, you can argue about where in the UI it should be. Perhaps it should just be somewhere in outfitting / livery and not in the station services main menu. But having in the game’s UI rather than as a separate store seems like a big improvement to me.

This should be fun, the OP stating that if anyone doesn't hold the same opinion as he does then they are a 'forum dad' or a zealot.

What a wonderful way to offer up a discussion …...

Weird.
I didn't see either of those phrases in the OP.

On topic, the paint-jobs that used to be part of the packs tend to be pretty cheap, in Arx, and it's the fancy ones that are expensive.
Overall, some of the prices have gone up and some have gone down.

Whether or not you gain from the changes really depends on what you want.
If you would previously have had to buy, say, the entire "Vibrant" pack just to get an industrial-yellow paint-job for your T9 then you win.
If, OTOH, you might've used an entire "Horus" pack on different ships then you're probably going to lose.

I'm getting mixed signals. Get it sorted out. Maybe rest.
I don't receive "mixed signals" from XloubellXX. I think (s)he's states really clearly, that the wohle discussion about how manipulating the whole Arghs-thingy is goes just from hillarious to pathetic.

(S)he clearly stated, that we ALL are beeing manipulated by EVERY industry 24/7. It's nothing new. It's been there since we stopped exchanging items for other items. (Buy 2 get 1 for free)

And honestly if someone's going bankrupt because of Arghs, then this person has a even MORE serious problem with oneself and should call profesional asistance.

And comparing cosmetics with "Lootboxes" is just like comparing apples with bananas.

Weird.

.. snip ..
That is because the OP deleted said phrases :D

But it is the language he uses, as you can see from his response to my post:

It's not about agreeing with my opinion..posts like mine always attract the zealots riding on their horses they rode in on to defend their own manipulation. The scum always floats to the top, just like a pond.

Same thing people like you do to newer players that are foolish enough to try to post their often valid opinions on this forum. You're all basically dedicated forum harassers.

Deflecting, talk around it all you want it's still deflecting. Until someone tells me that one purchase earns the whole pack as before, then essentially skins have gone up about six times the price.

There's plenty of other threads people like you can go degrade.

Well, all this is a bit moot since the ability to buy ARX is borked at the moment. Damn those greedy devs gouging players for money and manipulating all us weak willed people into buying things we don't want, and they don't even have the decency to fix their broken purchase system!

How can we poor weak willed people be manipulated if FD don't fix their store!?

I DEMAND a working store to be manipulated with!

Wow, thats quite the pre-emptive dismissal of anyone who disagrees with OP isn't it?

Ok, i'm going to declare anyone who supports OP to be sad hater who knows nothing, therefore their opinions can be safely ignored.

Now we have a lovely safe space to ramble on about how wonderful ARX are and how we love Braben and FD!

(Except, we wouldn't.... well, except possibly for the odd wierdo).

Well they're both fruits. Why not.

Being self aware of manipulation does not magically make it non existent like the guy implied.

Yeah right! These are both fruits. Like oxygen and methane. Both are gases...but wich one will kill you? But, hey...still they are both gases. 🤦‍♀️
And marketing-manipulation is not "non-existent", right, but in the case of Arghs is negligible.

As you might recognize. I'm German. "We've" been through 3, in words THREE, currency changes during ONE decade. I wonder how we managed to stay alive as a nation. 🤔

We're still talking about peanuts (CENTS) or did the currency changed the last week? Inflation must running wild at FDev. 🤦‍♀️

You dont seem to grasp the concept of mass consumerism. If it was for nothing as you seem to imply, why did they patch that in the first place I wonder.

So so confused....

The "official" reason, stated by FDev, to equalize purchase between ALL platforms. Simple as that. That they "altered" the prizes "a bit" okay...thats MAYBE debateable, but nevertheless, purchasing cosmetics is purely optional. You don't HAVE TO. Unlike some other companies who sell lootboxes for an incredible price, for THE CHANCE to get something useful.
