Wealth statistics

I've got 1.2bn in cash and 1.7bn in assets.

Up until recently i was happy with a couple of hundred mil, but then I decided to go all out to get my first billion. Took about a month playing off and on.

Now I don't worry about rebuys or getting a new ship and fitting it out as A class. Just enjoying the game :)

Scoring doesn't take ONLY credits into account, but i'm pretty sure credits are quite an important part of the score
Let me quote what's written on Inara:
"The score for the main ladder is based on Combat, Trade and Exploration ranks, including their progress (1.000 points for each tier) with the addition of points for other activities (bounties, combat bonds, trades, scans, etc.) for a few hundred or thousand points, to differentiate commanders on high ranks. No credits/assets values are used."

I think

It isn't important at all but pray tell, what IS important on a forum about pixel spaceships?

On this forum talking about the game is pretty much 99% of what happens here so in this bubble thats what we do, and no.. it has zero bearing on events in the real world so it's ultimately pointless. But within this bubble of all things to talk about related to the game, player wealth demographics have no point. Money in ED falls from the trees now and pretty much everyone is a billionaire. Players are typically so wealthy now that most, if not all game play mechanics are rendered redundant. The degree to which players have outmoded consequence for themselves in ED i would argue is a subject not worth discussing. Your wealth reaches a point where it breaks the game, from that point onwards the number is just a number.

Who's the biggest billionaire in a game that has no use for that kind of wealth. How is the information useful to other players or even amusing. Its just an empty bragfest.

(yes im aware fleet carrier are coming... but right now, we know nothing about them not even their cost. And even if someone did buy one, how long would it take for that player to recoup the losses from its purchase using current game play mechanics)

Well, after getting tripple Elite, my inara rank kept going up... pretty much at the rate my credits went up.

One of my characters has about 11B in cash and the other about 9B. They both have about 3B worth of ships each. I've been saving up for fleet carriers.

With the way mining profits are now, it's stupid easy to make loads of credits.

My alt had a reasonable amount of credits -then an 'A' rated Corvette happened... only 400 mill left now...

My main has about the same, but will work back up to sensible soon enough.

Like what?
Estimates on fdevs ideas for what's acceptable income.

From which can be estimated fair value of upcoming features.

Percentage of people who's opinions don't represent the average

An idea of where the typical player stands and how to base suggestions on that.

Some people just love to claim "most players are billionaires" and we can prove or debunk this.

I suppose I'm in the norm as well; probably 1.7-1.8 billion tied up in assets, and around 900 million credits in working capital. Just bought and refit a new cutter, so the latter number will come back up within a day or two. Once I get under a billion nowadays, I can't sleep well because I have nightmares about sidewinders. ;)

That's still not valid for the purposes ive outlined.

I made trade elite and had less than a hundred million credits left after buying a single anaconda without any module upgrades because I had several other ships.

Good point. I think I was around the half a billion mark when I hit Trade Elite, but I earned 75% of it from Exploration first. This is probably backwards as compared to most commanders. Also, I spent around another half a billion "buying" reputation from both major powers too.

Edit: Grammar/Additional Thought.

One could conceivably assume that trade elite means the individual has the capacity to grind a billion credits in a healthy amount of time however.

But a couple years ago even a billion was a fairly significant number.
