For those who Deliberately Did Not Sign the Open Letter/Petition - Why Not?

Because this petition does not cover my issues with frontier which is combat logging, there is no excuse or exceptions to this. They removed money off those who did the money gain at the station so why was this never used against those who have been reported and sent VALID proof of this person taking advantage at an exploit. Frontier never addressed combat logging as a result its now a plague on this game because their is no Consequence of committing it currently.
Great TED talk, has nothing to do with this thread.

Combat logging is the ever-present boogeyman, isn't it? Just cannot get enough of flogging the topic so you can PvPat yourself on the back.

Wny? There are bigger problems in the world and than some online game and I got stuff in my house I paid way more for and the game works better. If you are on here complaining about how unjust a game developer is , you probably need to reevaluate your purpose in society...

Oh. I didn't realize we had to be invited to each thread on an open forum.
Perhaps you could be invited to read the thread before commenting about other people posting.

I mean, sure, you're now playing victim when you're called out on what you posted, despite you coming into this thread to try and do the exact same thing, but incorrectly. And, ironically, while smarming about how everyone else was being smarmy and not responding on-topic, you did not engage in the topic of the thread.

The title thread name
"For those who did deliberately not sign the open letter/petition-why not?"

My comment and my issue is totally relevant to the thread. Frontier have said previously that combat logging is cheating yet they do nothing, beluga guy gets banned for being super commander at Jameson, players get money removed for exploiting a money method, yet frontier do nothing about people force quiting because they are on the losing side of things or just to be a pain.

I think you are the one who needs to read the thread title.

Nothing you know of.

Could you expand on your comment if its not too much to ask " nothing i know of"

You can't know what FD do about CLogging and other infractions. They keep it private. Your anecdotal notion that no one get punished for CLogging is unsupportable.

Plus, I'll take this opportunity to remind us all that CLogging wasn't invented in E|D. Combat Logging has happened as long as I have been gaming, and in just about every game I've been involved with. CLogging is not FD's problem alone.

True its in other games but that being said what we can go off is the operation pulled off by sdc to see what fdev actually does if someone was reported multiple times by different people for clogging and the result was nothing. This i go off and dispite how long ago it may of been it was still considered an exploit and nothing was done and today it seems the same way. If there are cases of people successfully getting banned or penalized for clogging then why havent they announced if you do this such and such may happen as of now.

Trust absolutely nothing sdc says or does. That is a good rule in E|D. It should be #4 or #5 on the list. You know, like after 'Don;t fly without a re-buy', and 'Never sell your Python'.

FD's policy has always been to keep individual punishment between FD and the perp. FD just doesn;t advertise anything but nameless, mass actions. The '5 for 1' scandal and the recent credit exploit as prime examples. The only reason we know about the slot-blockers being banned, is because they told us. How many CLoggers do you think will complain about being banned to us?

For those who Deliberately Did Not Sign the Open Letter/Petition
I didn't sign the petition because I'd already signed the letter.

I did that because I agreed with the core points being addressed:
  • Open betas for future updates (like previously) to avoid buggy update launches (see console CMDRs).
  • Plus enough time for fixes to be implemented by QA (because previous betas didn't give enough time).
  • Permanent test server so that hotfixes can be tested "live" without being live (i.e. avoid follow-up issues).
  • Communication on bug fixing schedule, to update the community (the CM team have been fantastic at this since the September Update arrived).
Personally, I've been disappointed by the discussions that have followed. A good 90% have been off-topic sniping at each other, over nitpicky issues that don't actually matter. Thankfully, amongst the feedback has been some useful information for FDev to use.

Have a great day everyone o7

P.S. I've only answered because I correctly interpret the "/" means "or"?

That's a whole lot of not the topic of this thread you've got going on there. You said nothing about the petition or the topic and just immediately went into an off-topic rant.

I mean, nevermind the extremely flawed logic that you didn't sign a petition because it doesn't affect one, single thing, as if there can only be one thing at a time that matters. That's not a reason preventing you from supporting anything.

That would have to do with how much the petition mattered. Is it nit-picky to be irritated by people attempting to 'speak for you'?

I don't care about people attempting to speak for me. Conversely I don't speak for anyone else, so they shouldn't assume I speak for them either.

I speak my mind, and always have.

Perhaps you should read the thread, hmm?
It's rational. Supporting somebody who deigns to speak in your place only gives them more agency to do so again in the future, regardless of whether or not you agree with them.

My point is not off topic and looking at that petition there isnt anything i am interested in supporting.
